Liotrix may interfere with blood glucose control and reduce the effectiveness of semaglutide and other diabetic medications. Monitor your blood sugar levels closely. You may also need additional thyroid function monitoring to ensure your thyroid medication is working properly. It is also recommended to take liotrix at least 30 minutes after oral semaglutide. The timing of meals relative to your oral liotrix dose can affect the absorption of the medication. Therefore, liotrix should be taken on a consistent schedule with regard to time of day and relation to meals to avoid large fluctuations in blood levels, which may alter its effects. In addition, absorption of liotrix may be decreased and/or delayed by foods such as soybean flour, cotton seed meal, walnuts, dietary fiber, calcium, calcium fortified juices and grapefruit or grapefruit juice. Food may affect the absorption of semaglutide when taken orally. It is recommended that oral semaglutide be taken 30 minutes before first food, beverage, or other oral medications of the day with no more than 4 ounces of plain water. You may experience more side effects including nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea if you fast longer than 30 minutes after the semaglutide dose. Using multivitamin with minerals together with liotrix may decrease the effects of liotrix. You should separate the administration of liotrix and multivitamin with minerals by at least 4 hours.
