The use of monomethyl fumarate in combination with higher doses of aspirin, such as those used to relieve pain and inflammation, may increase the potential for kidney damage. Let your doctor know if you experience any signs or symptoms of kidney damage such as nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, increased or decreased urination, sudden weight gain or loss, fluid retention, swelling, shortness of breath, muscle cramps, tiredness, weakness, dizziness, confusion, and/or irregular heart rhythm. You can also speak with your healthcare provider to see if an alternative pain reliever, such as acetaminophen, might be an option for you.

Lower doses of non-enteric coated aspirin (up to 325 mg) are sometimes taken about 30 minutes prior to monomethyl fumarate to help reduce the occurrence and severity of flushing. This combination has not been evaluated for longer than 4 weeks. Let your doctor know if you experience any side effects that are particularly bothersome or do not improve during treatment. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.

Alcohol can increase the nervous system side effects of meprobamate such as dizziness, drowsiness, and difficulty concentrating. Some people may also experience impairment in thinking and judgment. You should avoid or limit the use of alcohol while being treated with meprobamate. Do not use more than the recommended dose of meprobamate, and avoid activities requiring mental alertness such as driving or operating hazardous machinery until you know how the medication affects you. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions or concerns.

Ask your doctor before using aspirin together with ethanol (alcohol). Do not drink alcohol while taking aspirin. Alcohol can increase your risk of stomach bleeding caused by aspirin. Call your doctor at once if you have symptoms of bleeding in your stomach or intestines. This includes black, bloody, or tarry stools, or coughing up blood or vomit that looks like coffee grounds. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
