If you are currently being treated with primaquine or have been treated within the last 3 days, you should talk to your doctor before taking typhoid vaccine, live. Antibiotics like primaquine can reduce the activity of the vaccine. To ensure adequate vaccine response, you should generally not take typhoid vaccine, live until at least 3 days after you complete your antibiotic therapy. If you have already started taking typhoid vaccine, live, it may be advisable to wait at least 3 days after the last dose of vaccine before using primaquine, depending on the urgency of the antibiotic treatment. You should consult with your physician on what is the best course of action for you. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
