Colestipol may interfere with the absorption of estradiol when these medications are taken at the same time. This may reduce the blood levels and effects of estradiol. To prevent or minimize the interaction, estradiol should be taken at least 1 hour before or 4 to 6 hours after the colestipol dose. Contact your doctor if your condition changes or your symptoms worsen during treatment with these medications. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.

Colestipol may interfere with the absorption of certain vitamins such as A, D, E and K. Therefore, it is recommended that you take multivitamin with minerals at least 1 hour before or 4 to 6 hours after colestipol to minimize the risk of interaction. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have questions on how to take these or other medications you are prescribed. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
