Usual Adult Dose for Migraine
Belladonna/caffeine/ergotamine/pentobarbital 0.25 mg-100 mg-2 mg-60 mg rectal suppository:
1 suppository rectally at start of migraine. May repeat in 1 hour if needed. A minimum of 6 hours should elapse before next dose. Not to exceed 3 suppositories daily. Weekly maximum is 5 suppositories.
Usual Pediatric Dose for Migraine
Belladonna/caffeine/ergotamine/pentobarbital 0.25 mg-100 mg-2 mg-60 mg rectal suppository:
6 to 11 years: 1/2 suppository rectally at start of migraine. May repeat in 1 hour if needed. A minimum of 6 hours should elapse before next dose. Not to exceed 1 1/2 suppositories daily. Weekly maximum is 2 1/2 suppositories.
12 years or older: 1 suppository rectally at start of migraine. May repeat in 1 hour if needed. A minimum of 6 hours should elapse before next dose. Not to exceed 3 suppositories daily. Weekly maximum is 5 suppositories.
Renal Dose Adjustments
Contraindicated in renal insufficiency.
