Usual Adult Dose for Diarrhea
750 mg to 3000 mg after each loose bowel movement up to 9000 mg/day.
Usual Pediatric Dose for Diarrhea
3 to 6 years: 300 mg to 750 mg after each loose bowel movement up to 2250 mg/day.
6 to 12 years: 600 mg to 1500 mg after each loose bowel movement up to 4500 mg/day.

Precautions
Not to be used as treatment for diarrhea associated with pseudomembranous enterocolitis or in diarrhea caused by toxigenic bacteria.
Because of the absorbent mechanism of action of attapulgite, the GI absorption of some drugs may be altered if given concomitantly.
