For Seborrheic Dermatitis: Ketoconazol has drastically helped my seborrheic dermatitis, even after just the first use. I have the shampoo for my scalp and cream for my face, and I’m sure with continued use my flakes & redness will completely gone soon. The shampoo was 8$ and cream was 15$ (generic) but after my insurance it was more like 4$ and 2$. I would definitely recommend giving it a try, it comes in many different forms as well. |

For Tinea Versicolor: I developed tinea veriscolor during a particularly hot summer about 3 years ago. I've been to 5 different doctors and been prescribed every pill and lotion imaginable. None of them worked! I was embarrassed to go out, I felt like everyone could see it and I was so frustrated that nothing helped. THEN, I was in urgent care for an unrelated condition and the Dr took a look at my neck while checking my ears and told me to use Selsun (selenium sulfide 1%) as a lotion. I started using it at night a few days ago and my skin is redder, patchier and tender but I can SEE THAT IT IS WORKING! Moisturizing lotion is a necessity during the day with this treatment! For Tinea Versicolor: So I had used selsum blue for years while having tinea versicolor like most. Apply for 10-20 min and rinse, doing it daily for a week. Got tired of it and saw little results so I stopped and recently it resurfaced worse than ever. So instead for 3 days... left it on over night then rinsed but one day I applied a lot and obtained chemical burns while leaving it overnight without showering the next day. Hurt like hell but after proper moisturizing through the burns for 3 days, COMPLETELY KILLED OFF THE CONDITION. I feel like a new man. I’d do it again simply because it took one painful night and 5 years of having it. PS shake the bottle really well as the active ingredient sinks to the bottom of the bottle. |

For Seborrheic Dermatitis: I've had Seborrheic Dermatitis for several years; it would come and go intermittently, sometimes mild, sometimes severe. A combination of ketoconazole 2% (Nizoral) and OTC hydrocortisone cream 1% would usually keep it at bay. This most recent outbreak was the worst of all. I let it go too long before resuming use of the two creams. The condition flared up strongly in both ears and one eyebrow. It was so bad, the creams didn't seem to have much success. After a bit of reading online, I decided to swab vinegar on the affected areas twice daily, thinking the acetic acid would kill any fungal cells on or near the skin surface. Mildly painful (briefly) on cracked or inflamed skin, but holy cow--what a change! After about a week, all three outbreaks had significantly subsided. This gave the creams a chance to get to work and succeed. The last outbreak is almost gone, 6 months later.
