For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "After 1 week of Flomax, urine flow was slightly affected. I have started experiencing dizziness, extreme fatigue, weakness, nausea, diarrhea, headache, chills, body aches, and flu-like symptoms. Goodbye Flomax."

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "I started taking tamsulosin in the middle of September 2019. After a few weeks, I started to develop a loss of appetite and debilitating weakness. I became nauseous and was unable to eat. This was not tiredness or drowsiness, but a profound weakness that prevented anything associated with normal activities. I stopped taking tamsulosin on Thursday, 10/10/19. I guess I will know better in a few days."

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "I have frequent urination at night. Dr. prescribed Flomax. I took my first pill last evening, 30 minutes after dinner. Felt nauseous in the morning. Got up for work and nearly passed out in the shower. Flopped on the bed, wrapped in a towel. Had a cold sweat. My BP must have dropped. I did not go to work today and have been lethargic all day. I am not taking Flomax ever again."

For Urinary Tract Stones "Woke up with nausea and diarrhea and unbearable pain in my left side. Days later, ended up at the ER and a cat scan showed a 6mm stone on the left. The doctor put me on Flomax 1X per day for 10 days and pain meds. Followed up with a urologist 9 days after taking the Flomax, and an ultrasound showed no more stone on my left side, I passed it without feeling it. I have another 5mm on my right, but now that I know what to expect, I will have Flomax and pain meds on hand for the next episode."

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "Within a week of beginning the medication, my energy plummeted. I also developed a tooth abscess, which I have come to find out is a possible side effect. As far as benefits, nothing is discernible. After walking down the flight of stairs in my gym, heading for the treadmill, I became so lightheaded and nauseous that I had to go and sit down, which is completely opposite of my normal conditioning."

For Urinary Tract Stones "Female, age 35, with a history of kidney stones. Went to the ER for kidney stone pain on a Friday, was given a shot of Flomax and a prescription to take daily. Saw urologist and received a CAT scan on Monday - one 5mm kidney stone in the ureter and two more (one in each kidney) to come. On day six of Flomax and going to stop taking it - feeling very dizzy, nauseous, tired with chills/low fever at night. Still haven't passed the stone but can't take these side effects. Doctor said I can go back on Flomax anytime if my kidney stone pain comes back and I need it to help pass this stone."

For Urinary Tract Stones "Three weeks ago, I had my first experience with kidney stones, and holy moly, excruciating at that. I’m no sook, I have an extremely high pain tolerance, broken bones, and no major painkillers needed. But kidney stones are a completely different ballgame, had me in tears. I’ve passed just over 30 stones ranging from 2mm to 5mm in the first two weeks. The last week, I have had dull, constant pain in my flank area, so I went to have another scan to hear that I have another five stones in my ureter ranging from 2mm to 5mm and have a 7mm stone in my kidney. I’m so over the pain and inconvenience it’s caused, just want it all gone ASAP, so I took my first Flomax last night, and I felt more pain than what I have in the last week. Not sure if I’m too keen on the Flomax yet, but it’s made me feel worse: nausea, stomach pain. Not sure if I wanna take it anymore."

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "I took this for about three weeks for BPH. After nearly passing out the second time after standing up, I decided it wasn't worth it. I also had nausea and lethargy. It did help somewhat with urine flow, but the side effects caused me to stop."

For Urinary Tract Stones "Had kidney stones, had a stent put in. Ugly, ugly painful surgery. Stent removal was just as bad as the surgery. When you ask the nurses how bad the stent removal will be, and they say you have to ask the doctor, you know it's going to be bad. Flomax helped with the flow, but the side effects are unbearable. Back pain, nausea, low blood pressure, dry ejaculation, flu symptoms. Goodbye Flomax."

For Urinary Tract Stones "Had severe kidney stones from 2002 to 2005. Moved to a cooler climate (Newfoundland, Canada), and the stones stopped being produced from May to September. Now - 2016 - I've been suffering with a very painful stone stuck high in the ureter since early July. It is now late November, and my new GP has just prescribed FLOMAX .4 mg to try to relax my right ureter so the stone will pass. A CT scan says it is only 1 mm, so the GP doesn't want to send me to a urologist - yet. Just took the first pill while reading this website. Everyone's comments are so very helpful. THANK YOU! While the stone is very small, it is amazingly painful, causing nausea and screaming pain when it starts up again. Am also drinking beer, which is supposed to help. Good luck to others."

"Prescribed for a kidney stone. Took 2 doses, and I have never been more sick. I threw the pills away and am now feeling better 2 days later. Constipated, dehydrated, nauseous, stuffy nose. Don’t take it for a stone."

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "Yes, there are side effects. The first couple of doses caused severe nausea (get Zofran from the doctor and take with Flomax for about 5 days), also tiredness and lightheadedness. I found improvement with taking the medication about an hour before bedtime. Symptoms were much more tolerable. I think the only real sexual side effect was reduced erection. If you can't pee, and I couldn't due to taking testosterone, which caused BPH. I took saw palmetto successfully for 3 years, then had to stop for surgery. Saw palmetto did not work once I resumed."

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "While Flomax definitely helps with ease and volume of urination, the side effects are just too much. This is the second time I’ve tried it. The first time (about a year ago) I stopped for the horrible side effects and decided I would never take it again. This time I guess I forgot about those because I told my doctor I wanted to try it again. Within a day or two, I stopped getting up as much at night, I had a more powerful stream, and I didn’t feel the urgent sensation to pee as much. I also experience dizziness, nausea, headaches, toothaches, ejaculation problems, and for some reason, it makes me have a hard time breathing. I’m stopping it today for the second time. Hopefully, I’ll remember these side effects the next time I think I might want to take it."
