"2nd day on 5mg started to work with rock-hard erections, however, experienced headache, lower bowel pressure. 3rd day, erections would wake me up and hurt! Leg/ankle aches, severe lower bowel pressure, like you need to go #2 but can't! Enjoyed the initial rock-hard erections but not at these side effects or $230 for month's supply! I'm 50 and work out 3 times a week. Not worth side effects!"

"I was prescribed Cialis for BPH, 5 mg daily, and having been 60 years old, I welcomed the 'side effect' of having monster erections. All that did come with a price, though, as about 3 days into taking the 5 mg dose daily, I started experiencing excruciating pain in my lower back and buttock. I did extensive research into this matter. I am NOT an MD. I am sharing what I found and what worked for me to rid myself of my pain, and it has not returned since. This is based partially on a study I found, and you should check with your doctor before you do this. Full disclaimer... I am sharing this NOT as a recommendation but as what I did, and it is strictly for 'entertainment purposes only.' 1. Discontinue Cialis for 5 days to clear it from your system. Do this for 3 days ONLY: 2. Take Aleve 220 mg and Tylenol 325 mg 2 hours prior to taking the 5 mg Cialis for 3 days ONLY. 3. Discontinue taking the Aleve 220 mg and Tylenol 325 mg after day 3. 4. Day 4 forward, continue with the Cialis."

"I fax my prescription to a Canadian pharmacy and receive a 90-day supply. It is a generic and costs $30 per month. It works tremendously well, as I found out when I ran out for a month. Now, after a few days back on it, I’m doing great again. I’m taking it for BPH, but it helps me to have a stronger erection that lasts to climax. No side effects that I notice. I’m in my early sixties. I tried Flonase, but it made things worse for me."

"After taking the drug Cialis, I had medium success, but over the next 12 hours developed several back pains such that I could barely walk. This continued for several days. I took it again a couple of weeks later... and the same thing! Have tried again over a period of several years."

"After several years of trying a lot of different drugs for my enlarged prostate, I have now the best treatment protocol: Tadalafil 5 mg + Doxazosin 1 mg (half of a pill) at bedtime. And they also improved my sexual life a lot. Try it!"

"Take Flomax for BPH. So-so results with Flomax. Added 0.5 Tadalafil with good results in 1 day. By the 3rd day, had to stop due to bad back pain and headache. Have stopped now for a day, 35 hours since last dose, and pain is gone. I will now try one dose every other day. Will come back to site with results. Great to have all this info. Thanks."

"I’m in my 20s on this for BPH symptoms. Works very well, reduced trips to the bathroom in the morning from 3-4 times to just one trip. I’ve been on this medication for 2 months now. In my opinion, it’s far superior to Flomax for this issue. The added side effect of being able to go round after round in the bedroom is cool as well."

"I'm a 50-year-old with an enlarged prostate that caused a frequent need to urinate and a feeling of never quite emptying my bladder. ED wasn't much of a problem, and if there were any issues, it was most likely psychological. Within the first few days, there was a noticeable difference in frequency and a feeling of emptying my bladder. No bad side effects, just the flushing and 'hot' episodes. I am on a few meds, and I know there will be side effects for everything. I just see what is acceptable and work with it. Since my insurance will authorize this medication's use and the side effects for me are pretty insignificant, I will continue to use it for its benefits! Great med for my issues!"

"My doctor suggested Cialis 5 mg daily to treat prostate enlargement, however, from day 1 to day 5, I was suffering from back pain with chest burning like a heart attack, so my doctor stopped it immediately. Now I am using 0.25 mg half a day before sex. It is very good for erection and also to relieve prostate discomfort during ejaculation."

"Waited for tadalafil to become generic as long as I could. Price for Cialis way too much. Found online and bought. I had a little backache for the first day or two, then no side effects. I haven't been back to the doctor to see if BPH has improved, but way awesome erection and climax improvement. If loving tadalafil is wrong, I'll never be right. I take 5 mg per day by splitting a 20 mg. I know this is not recommended, but it is the most economical way and not supposed to split - it works great, so I'm okay with it. Supposed to be generic in the USA in 2018."

"Works great on BPH, doctor switches every 6 months from Flomax and 6 months on Cialis. That way, the body doesn't get adjusted to one or the other. Side effects can be bothersome but worth it, cut back dosage to half every other day. Able to sleep all night without going to the bathroom often. Works great."

"Great site, read all the comments. I have only one kidney and have been suffering from BPH for the last three plus years due to one kidney removal. Have tried Flomax - horrible side effects and loss of any sexual appeal. Having one kidney. Hopefully, my urologist can prescribe Cialis. Again, great comments."

"I'm 62 and was prescribed 5 mg Cialis by my urologist for BPH and mild ED. It worked very well for both the first day, but then I started to develop severe back pain so that I could hardly stand up. I discontinued for 2 days, taking Aleve, but then cut the pill down (use a sharp knife) to 2.5 mg each morning, and that works just fine. So far, I need to urinate maybe once in the night, don't have the crazy urgency in the day, and enjoy erections and orgasms whenever I want to. Ejaculation is super strong and productive. Previously, I had tried Flomax, but all that did was create more ED. Extremely happy with Cialis at 2.5 mg each morning. Taking L-Arginine every evening doesn't hurt either."

"Was considering surgery for BPH. Had significant problems urinating. Was already on Flomax, wasn’t helping much. Just one day after starting 5 mg Tadalafil, symptoms improved significantly. After several days, I experienced what others mentioned - low back and thigh pain. That was resolved by Tylenol and ibuprofen. That symptom gradually diminished after a couple of weeks, so don’t give up right away. There will be some symptoms from vascular congestion, but most are minor and worth it for the relief of BPH symptoms."

"I was taking the daily 5 mg dose, initially to see if it helped with my BPH symptoms and ED. We found it did virtually nothing to improve my BPH symptoms, but also that it was the only dose my insurance would cover and only if it was prescribed for BPH and NOT for ED! (Go figure!) I continued for about 4 years on 5 mg daily. During that same timeframe, I started experiencing brutal lower back pain during the night, causing sleep loss, and getting out of bed and standing in the morning became almost excruciating. At 68 y/o, I thought it was just age catching up with me. Well, when I recently ran out, I decided to take a break, partly for financial reasons and partly because I wasn't experiencing enough benefits in the ED to justify the pricey copays. MUCH TO MY SURPRISE and delight, my severe back pain disappeared completely in only a few days! What a hard-learned lesson! (no pun intended!)"

"This started 8 months ago. I have urgency all day and most days urinating almost hourly or less than that. The doctor did the finger check and said your prostate checks out as in the normal range, approx. 30mm. But with my symptoms and age 60+, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) was likely. The doctor put me on 5 mg daily. After 2+ months on this, it’s hardly changed my symptoms. I can go an hour but only had 3 days of making it past 1.5 hrs between bathroom trips. But my wife enjoys the obvious benefits. As for my BPH, it really has only made a small difference. I have had no major side effects. I give it 5 stars for good sex and 3 stars for BPH, thus the average is 4."

"75 next year and despite gym work, young attitude, good looks and bod (for 74), prostate and ED have been real problems for some time. Tried 5 mgs daily for almost 1 month, and prostate benefits not too impressive. Depending on mood (psychological issue?), 10 to 20 mgs good for ED if not a bit mechanical. May trial again for a while, though price here in Oz round $150 for 4 weeks @ 5 mgs a day is no plus!"

"I can urinate easily with noticeably better flow when I take Cialis 20 mg for ED. I also take Flomax. I tried 5 mg Cialis daily for 3 weeks, but side effects became too much, and I had to stop. The aches and pains were not worth the benefit. If I was an old guy with a young bimbo, I would take 5 mg daily to satisfy her. 5 mg daily after a week let me have erections on demand. I still use 20 mg occasionally for ED, and it works great and lasts for 2 days. I prefer Levitra 20 mg for ED because the side effects don't last as long."

"I've tried Viagra and found it worked pretty well. I had some side effects, namely heartburn and headaches, so thought I'd try Cialis to see if I suffered from the same effects. I started off by taking 10 mg of Cialis, and after an hour, I had a slight stirring in the loins, but that was about it. So, I took the remainder of the dosage (10 mg), and it helped slightly, but was still less than I would normally get without any medication. Very disappointed, and to top it all, I've had heartburn most of the following day. I bought a pack of 8, costing a reasonable amount, to add to the situation. Guess it works for some and not others."

"I had CyberKnife in 2015, and mild BPH before and after. Went over a year taking nothing but FloMax, never worked for me, but my BPH got bad and I started taking 5 mg Cialis, which helped. First urine culture came back with blood and a UTI. Next three were clear. Went on Cialis and Cipro. Then Cialis and Cefuroxime for 7 days and STILL no answers. I felt worse than before. I did make the MISTAKE of taking 2 Cialis for 3 days at the end of my Cefuroxime because I felt so horrible. DON'T DO THIS! Doctor said it was a toxic dose. Now I've been waiting for OVER a week on his orders of 'Take nothing and go to the ER if it gets worse.' I can't take anymore! Going back to my Cialis to see if it can help again. It never did help with libido issues now or before. I have gotten rid of my doc."

"I used Cialis 5 mg per day for benign prostate enlargement from November 2013 until November 2015. Although it was apparently effective for limiting prostate problems, since I stopped it in November 2015, I am 99% sure that, as a person with zero history of epilepsy, it caused me to suffer from Transient Epileptic Amnesia (TEA), with the TEA during 2014 being unrecognized due to nocturnal episodes. There is also a strong possibility that my gradual increases in food sensitivities during this period, leading to Irritable Bowel Syndrome, were linked to Cialis. This drug should be withdrawn right away for this condition."
