"I was prescribed a 10-day supply of Bactrim DS for finger lesions infected with staph. Within 2 days, I noticed that the infection started to heal. I also immediately experienced side effects of nausea, diarrhea, and heart palpitations. My doctor ordered me to have an echocardiogram/heart monitor as a result of irregularities she saw on my EKG while taking Bactrim. At the end of the 10-day supply, the infection had not cleared completely, and I was given a second round. After starting the second round, I broke out into a rash that covered my entire body. I had to have a shot of Prednisone and take an additional 6 days. It has been more than a month since I took the last dose of Bactrim, and I still am dealing with the original infection as well as being treated for chronic hives. I have not had heart palpitations since stopping the medication."

"Took two pills yesterday, still feel nauseous and light-headed. Haven't taken any today. Gonna go back and get something else. Worked on my cellulitis, it's almost gone, but my body can't handle it."

"DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE! It’s horrible. I have been off of it almost 48 hours, and I’m still puking and can’t hold any food down. My body is so weak, and it’s giving me panic attacks!"

"Was prescribed this antibiotic after my face abscess was drained. Overall, did its job, and experienced no side effect symptoms or headaches. Just make sure to drink plenty of water while taking."

"I had a very widespread bacterial infection all over my legs, and it spread to my arms thanks to a misdiagnosis at the first clinic I went to, but I was prescribed Bactrim from the second clinic. My rash has cleared up a lot, and I've noticed a big change, but the debilitating nausea, cold sweats, and stomach aches are the worst. It will come and go in waves, and it will wake me up in the middle of the night. I have eaten a lot when taking this, and I drink a lot of water, but every time I take this, I have to take an Advil because the stomach pain is just unbearable. Every time the painkiller wears off, I feel like I'm dying. The result of the rash going away is worth it, but the pain and nausea is NOT."
