Pentosan polysulfate sodium for Interstitial Cystitis "My story is a different one. I was diagnosed a couple of years ago with an overactive bladder. The urologist I was using said there was no way I had interstitial cystitis. I had been doing research, but he didn't want to listen. Well, I suffered for a couple of years because I was having a hard time finding another doctor, and then finally, just a week ago, I found a doctor that listened to my symptoms and, without hesitation, told me I definitely had IC. He put me on Elmiron three times a day. I know it has not been but a couple of days, but I feel different. My urges aren't as bad, I am still having pain to some food, but I am new to this and will learn. I am very happy I finally (about almost five years of pain) found out what was causing it and something to help."

Pentosan polysulfate sodium for Interstitial Cystitis "After a few flare-ups over the first 3 months, Elmiron worked well for me. I would have an occasional flare, but it allowed me to function, work, and live a normal life. It was so hard before taking it and having pelvic pain, bladder spasms. I always felt like I had been stomped by a horse. I was practically suicidal! I have been taking it for over 15 years, and it is not working as well, or my symptoms are more severe. I still could not function without the Elmiron."

For Interstitial Cystitis "I suffered for over 5 yrs from bladder spasms before being diagnosed with IC. After a lengthy medical trial for answers, I was put on Elmiron.
