"I was on this as it was recommended to taper from clonazepam. Initially, I tried the brand name 21st Century prolonged release 500 mg niacinamide. The first dose caused abdominal pain and body discomfort within 12 hours. Too uncomfortable to repeat, and side effects caused concern for even taking this much. Researched and found the daily requirement for normal intake is just 35 mg. Then switched to a 250 mg tablet that I cut in half to approximately 125 mg. It still resulted in overnight abdominal discomfort. I am a 75-year-old female. I would take precautions with this supplement."
