For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I took my first dose of Belviq XR this morning at 8 a.m. with a light breakfast. I still felt somewhat hungry for a few hours, but the hunger was tolerable. By 2 p.m., I started feeling like I was ready to eat. I had a protein bar, and that kept me satisfied until 5 p.m. I started feeling a slight headache come on, so I ate a light dinner, and the dull headache subsided. Around 7 p.m., I could not get warm and felt very drowsy. I crawled into my bed and watched a little TV until I warmed up. It is now 10 p.m. and I am not running to the kitchen for a bedtime snack! I could eat, yes, but so far I've been able to deal with my slight hunger pangs. A little thirsty this evening, so I've been pounding down the water too. Will update again soon."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Like many, I had a bad experience with Belviq. First off, let me say I took this drug without food. After 5 hours later, I felt as if I voluntarily drugged myself, I experienced extreme fatigue, weakness, and a massive headache that lay up to 2 days. (It felt like I had a hangover, I could barely walk.) I took this drug on Wednesday, February 28, at 8:30 am. At that point, I knew I would throw away the drug. Then I decided to give the drug another try, but with food. This is when I discovered I am one of the people who have to take this with food and not on an empty stomach. What a big difference! No fatigue or weakness, no hangover feeling, and definitely no headaches. So I’m deciding to keep the drug because it did still curb my appetite, and I do want to add, though I experienced just wanting to rest and sleep, I was okay with that."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started Belviq XR 20 mg morning— Day 1 experience dizziness, fatigue, slight headache, and racing heart 96 resting / up to 108 with movement. Day 2 my symptoms were dizziness and slight headache. Seven days later—I continue to take the medication and the only symptom I have is dizziness. I contacted my dr because this medicine has not suppressed my appetite at all—so he is planning to switch me to something else."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "After my first dose, I started having chills. Could not get warm. Extremely tired and achy. Headache, depressed, just wanted to sleep. No desire to do anything but sleep. Very dizzy. Would not recommend driving. Skipped 2nd dose. On the bright side, I didn't want to eat, too nauseous."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am a female that stands about 5 feet tall, weighing in at 225 pounds. I have been taking this medication for approximately 2 weeks, combined with trying to eat healthier. Slight headache the first two days, but nothing since then. Does curb my appetite. I have lost about 5 pounds so far. My insurance does cover this medication, so my cost was $50 for a 30-day supply."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I generally tolerate all medications well and was surprised how awful I felt on Belviq. Within a few days of starting it, I came down with what I thought was a virus: body aches, chills, and nausea. I kept on the Belviq since I had just started it. I spoke about this to my doctor, and he said to give it another week or two. Then the aches, chills, and nausea came again. I also felt that the product did not work. I got an additional headache in the evening and then was ravenous. I stopped the Belviq, and the symptoms went away."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Today (1/26/18) is my first dose of Belviq XR. I'm not hungry, nor do I have a headache as of yet. After reading all the reviews, I was afraid of taking this medication. Each person is different, so I thought I need to try it and find out for myself. I'm 55 and need to lose 30 lbs. Wish me luck. I will report back."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "After 1 dose of Belviq XR, within a couple of hours, I had every single side effect. Cold symptoms, dizziness, inner ear issues, lethargy, severe headache, swollen feet and hands, scratchy throat, brain fog. Had all of these flu symptoms, so I assumed that it was the actual flu and not side effects. Then I noticed the itching that others reported. I noticed swelling in my feet and hands - severe swelling. Hurt to put my shoes on. Body aches, joint pain. My mind is mush. All of these are typical side effects of the medication according to the manufacturer. What is ‘typical’ about feeling sick? I ended up having to go home from work because I was not able to function. Basically, I am out 2 days of work, $145 for medication I am not taking, $100 to see the doctor for a flu test (I don’t have the flu, I have side effects)."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Well, I've been using Belviq XR for a week now. The first two days, I experienced dizziness and headaches, but by day four, I didn't have those symptoms. It definitely has suppressed my appetite, I find myself forcing myself to eat. Fatigue is a side effect, but I think the fatigue is attributed to the lack of caloric intake, especially since I exercise regularly. So, it's important to eat even if you have no appetite. So, in a week, I've lost five pounds so far, so good. :)"
