Cuvitru (immune globulin subcutaneous) "For better than 30 years I tolerated respiratory illnesses going in and out of doctors offices to get treated. During one particular bad episode my doctor sent me to ENT finding a serious sinus infection. Medication was prescribed and immediately relieved the symptoms. As quickly as it worked, when completed, the infection returned. I was sent to an allergy clinic finding no reactions. I ultimately was sent to an immunologist where it was found I had CVID. Cuvitru was prescribed and within 2-3 months of self subcutaneous injections began to enjoy life feeling better than I had in years. Over the past 4 years I have been free of suffering illnesses of sinus infections, flu, bronchitis, and pneumonia."

Cuvitru (immune globulin subcutaneous) "At the age of 65 when we moved to Western MA, I began with a new allergist/immunologist who wanted to do allergy testing (yet again--but in different places--different allergies). I asked him to test my immune system and was he shocked to learn I had/have the primary immune deficiency known as common variable immune deficiency (CVID). Choosing to get IgG via 'infusion' sub-cutaneously, I first was prescribed Hizentra. Within a year, I had a full torso allergic reaction with hives--so was changed to Cuvitru. I dose 10 grams once a week after putting lidocaine (prescription) in injection areas for 2.25 hours. Next, my husband inserts two needles in my upper arms, rotating between my left and right arms. I could infuse via the belly or upper thighs, but I'm too much of a softie to do so. THAT HURTS. IgG has changed my life--totally, and for the better. Finally when the world gets a cold--I get a cold, not an infection that might take two rounds of antibiotics to knock it out--LOVE IT."

Hizentra (immune globulin subcutaneous) "I've had Hizentra on and off for 4 months. Every time I start the treatment with only 2 grams, when I got to 4 grams, the symptoms were terrible, nausea, lack of appetite, high blood pressure, debilitating headaches, etc. The worst part was being told by my doctor that these symptoms could not happen with Hizentra and now reading all your reviews! Thank you for sharing!"

Hizentra (immune globulin subcutaneous) "Switched from nurse-infused IVIG to Hizentra, with zero side effects on the former. Now, 2 months later, sinusitis and nasal misery move in at 5th day, maybe my dose is too low. These old symptoms disappear a day or so after weekly self-infusion. Otherwise, all is well."

Hizentra (immune globulin subcutaneous) "Medicare required patients to switch from viva to globulin. The switch for me resulted in instant disability, numerous infections. It became evident that the same dosage of viva was not equivalent to Hizentra. Hizentra had to be increased by a factor of 1.59 of viva. The weekly grams infused out weigh any advantage of the 20% solution."

Vivaglobin (immune globulin subcutaneous) "I am 41 year old female, have been taking Vivaglobin for about 3 years now after immunoglobulin treatments weren't possible due to my veins couldn't take it anymore. I feel so much better since the treatments. I admit, I hate the idea of poking myself 3 times a week, but I can't rave about it enough. I went through most of my life a sick person, and thought I was a hypochondriac. I would hate to see if I couldn't take it anymore, I am so much more healthier. Thanks to all those donations of blood, in order to make this wonderful drug."

Hizentra (immune globulin subcutaneous) "I just had my second Hizentra treatment of 6 injections but this time in my arm. It has been about 8 hours since my treatment ended, and I have been in bed pretty much since then. My arm at the injection sites is hot and swollen which I can deal with. I did better on gamma guard despite having lousy veins. My sinus and ear infection symptoms returned mid-treatment. Not sure I will continue since I am feeling ill and vaguely drugged. I just had a kitchen accident and yelled at my hungry cats for jumping around."

Hizentra (immune globulin subcutaneous) "(I am a 76 year old female in Australia) 2 years 3 months of great IGg trough levels. Infusions initially weekly but I shifted to twice weekly as it meant cupboard to cupboard time is just on an hour and much more convenient. Two needles and I alternate thighs / belly with swelling down in 24 hours. 20ml in ave 35 mins. No obvious side effects. Don't forget there is a fair area of both locations so alternate sites and remember where you did it last time and shift a bit. 3 times I struck a nerve and knew it and once a blood vessel on drawback check. Also possible to use four needles to reduce local volume. Sounds as if I am lucky and yesterday I discovered Hizentra will no longer be imported into Australia. Incidentally, I have had NO at home clinical support to see I have not built in any bad practices and my Doctors only look to the trough levels. Use a check list."

Cuvitru (immune globulin subcutaneous) "I have had good success with this medication treating my immune deficiency. However, I am experiencing hair loss!!! I have found other patient testimonials discussing the same issue. I’m curious if other Cuvitru patients are noticing a similar side-effect."

Hizentra (immune globulin subcutaneous) "Horrible drug. Hizentra caused a severe site reaction, ended up in the ER. Severe blood pressure elevation to 180, normal is 120. Still elevated at 140 a week later. May have caused kidney damage. Going back to Gammaguard...way better! No reaction over 3 years."

"Have been on and off hizentra for a few years. It really works; however; my hair is thinning and my hairline receding. I am tapering off now in order to save my hair but I am exhausted and starting to feel sick again. So frustrating."

Vivaglobin (immune globulin subcutaneous) "Have been using this medicine for several years and it has made a great improvement in my quality of life. Much fewer infections since starting on Vivaglovin but I'm facing the probability of stopping the use due to the increased cost of the medicine through my insurance company. It went from a normal co-pay to a percentage and cannot afford over $1000 a month. But it works great."

Vivaglobin (immune globulin subcutaneous) "I was allergic to this drug Vivaglobin!!! I would get huge welts at my infusion sights. They would blister and then the skin would come off and become very angry! Even worse, I would get projectile vomiting the 3rd day after! It didn't matter if I ate or didn't, it felt like it was coming up from my toes! I was missing more work than being sick from all of the other infections!"

Hizentra (immune globulin subcutaneous) "I use the subcutaneous, 12 grams, once a week dosage at home. It seemed to help the first two weeks but now I am back to the same round of taking antibiotics, and getting the sinus problems back a day after stopping the antibiotic. I would like to know why it didn't work. I am tired of living on antibiotics."
