Ferric carboxymaltose for Iron Deficiency Anemia "Ok. I've been reading all these reviews, and I'm a bit concerned. So I've been receiving infusions for over a year now. They last me about 8 weeks. That's it. Menstrual lasts 3 to 4 days, light flow. I did have a colectomy. Partial. I've had multiple tests to check for bleeding... all negative? So first, I was on Venofer, then on Injectafer. After my first 2 doses of Injectafer, I ended up with really bad vertigo and a low phosphorus of 1.2. I was sick for about 5 days. I am going back to Venofer. This has been my experience. Everyone is different. I must admit, I am a little jealous of the treatments lasting others 2 plus years. Good luck to all of you."

For Iron Deficiency Anemia "I had 2 lots of iron infusions in May this year as my heavy periods had caused me to get iron deficiency yet again. I had infusions in July last year too. This time I was given iron tablets to take a week after infusions. Within days, my legs swelled up. So for 3 weeks, I continued them, as soon as I stopped them, my swelling went down. I started them again just to see if it was a cause, then straight away I swelled up, so stopped them again. This time my right knee got so swollen and painful, the doctor thought it was a Baker's cyst. After waiting 8 weeks for the scan, it was clear. 2 weeks ago, I had an MRI scan. Nothing showed. I've started vitamin D as the doctor said it was a little low. I felt dizzy, so stopped them. I started new ones the past few days, causing severe pain in my knee and swelling again. I have had nothing but bone pain and numbness in my index finger. It is 3 months tomorrow I've been like this and still no closer to finding out what's wrong. I wonder if I've had an iron overload, the GP doesn't listen. I was fine before this."

Ferric carboxymaltose for Iron Deficiency Anemia "My doctor called and told me I was overdosed on Injectafer. I don't know how it happened, but after the second dose, I passed out, and I have been dizzy, nauseous, completely drained of energy. Blurred vision since then. And I have to go for blood work twice a week for I don't know how long. It's been over a month now, and I still feel the same. It's just not getting better. I have been through many medical treatments and surgeries but have never felt this bad. I pray that the iron in my blood gets lower soon. Never again."
