For Dry Skin "I bought Blistex orange mango blast while going into work because it was on sale for $1.99, and now I guess I know why. I used this product at work about 2 times over 3 hours, and my lips started to burn and turned bright red. I put some ice on them and nothing. Now this morning, I woke up with lips that are super swollen and hives at the bottom! I’m very angry that this has happened to so many people, and you can still buy this product."

For Dry Skin "Left my Carmex at home, so I picked up some Blistex medicated lip balm. Within an hour of applying, my lips were drier than when I applied, they itched, were red, and swollen. Went to the doctor, turned out I got a chemical burn from the product. All I could do was apply aloe vera and burn gel. Took a few weeks, and now I'm left with scarring around my lips."

For Dry Skin "A couple of weeks ago, I used a brand new Blistex Fruit Smoothies Strawberry Coconut chapstick. I noticed that my lips started to swell and become scaly, red, and bumpy. I didn’t know what it was, so I went to the pharmacist, who told me it was an allergic reaction. It looked like I had red bumps all around the outer ring as if I had lip injections. It finally calmed down with antihistamines after several days. Then last week, I used the Blistex again, and my lips literally doubled in size and were burning, itching, scaly, and bumpy within hours. I even had difficulty breathing and a tingly throat. I took antihistamines and immediately phoned the doctor. The only change I had was the Blistex, so I went online and found dozens of other similar experiences with this horrible product. I cannot understand how this is on the market, especially since reactions can become worse over time. Absolutely terrible product."

For Dry Skin "I’ve never had a chapstick that I didn't like before, but then I tried Blistex. Absolutely horrible. Gave me swelling, itching, and redness after a light usage. I can’t imagine how horrible it would be if you put a decent amount on your lips. Holy moly, no. NEVER BUY BLISTEX! Wish I could rate it a zero or worse, 1 star gives more justice to the product than it deserves."

For Dry Skin "2 times now. Each time, had washed face and used toner (different toner and soap each time, and a moisturizer used for years). I avoided the area from nose to chin around lips with toner. Applied the chapstick as moisturizer. Within an hour of applying Strawberry Coconut Smoothie, my lips burned as if I had eaten something spicy. By 4 hours, lips swollen, corners starting to split, redness 1/4 inch around lips. Each time, at the start of irritation, rinsed every couple of hours, lips under cool water from faucet. 2nd day: blisters around inside of lips and they were swollen and burning, dry. The first time, used a mix of refrigerated honey, snail mucin, and aloe vera in a compress of medical gauze - then as dressing as needed to keep lips from drying. Day 3: swollen, burning, skin breaking and raw around edges. Rinsing and plain Aquaphor gel. Antihistamine not helping. Bumps and itching under bottom lip to where chin starts."
For Dry Skin "I’ve used Raspberry Lemonade Blistex for a year now with no problem. Two months ago, I developed raw skin around my lips (on my skin) plus chapped lips. They cracked and burned for three weeks. I didn’t make the connection to the Blistex as I was also using other lip balms. I finally stopped all products, and they healed in a week. Just today, I applied the raspberry Blistex, and in one hour, I had bright red skin around my mouth. I found my allergy trigger! I love the taste, and I’m pretty bummed. I’m curious to know which ingredient is giving me the reaction in case it’s in other products."
