"Got this clindamycin that you apply to your face for my facial acne (mild acne), hoping that it would clear everything up, but it didn't. It did nothing for my acne and possibly made it worse. I've been using it for around 4-5 weeks now and am going back to the doctor to try something different. Would not try it again."

"I have been using clindamycin every morning after cleansing my face almost religiously for almost 4 months, and I have seen no improvement in my acne. I use Differin gel at night and still no help. All the other reviews say they saw results in days, but I still get many breakouts. Also, I'm almost 18, and I just started about 6 months ago breaking out this bad. I had occasional pimples growing up, but nothing bad, then all of a sudden my face has gotten really bad."

"Have been using the lotion form of clindamycin for about a week. It's working wonderfully. The only drawback is that it makes my skin somewhat oily, but not enough to be a big problem. It's the only thing that I have used that's actually working so well."

"Works wonders for my acne, but it takes a while for positive results to occur. I use it twice a day for two weeks straight whenever I get a recurrence of breakouts. Works so much faster and better when used in conjunction with Benzoyl Peroxide. For convenience, I recommend BenzaClin, a double-action gel that contains both Benzoyl Peroxide and clindamycin as active ingredients."

"I started developing acne when I moved to the USA. I do not know why, but I could blame the food, environment, hypothyroidism, an irritation after bleaching my hair, or those brushes that a girl used on me that were dirty. Honestly, I don't know. It has been a month already since I started with clindamycin 1% lotion day and night, or sometimes in the middle of the day if I come back home early and I will be there for the rest of the day. I clean my face and do clindamycin. I have not gotten the same amount of acne that I used to, I still get some. My skin seems to be clearing up, and I am getting less, so it is working. However, I still have 2 months to see. I am positive that it will work, but not sure what happens when I get off."

"I use clindamycin to address shaving irritation and related breakouts. The lotion works wonders. Usually, within 3-5 days after use, I can see a big improvement in shaved areas around my neck and chin. This medicine has solved my problem. My shaved skin looks and feels great even after shaving daily."

"I'm a 31-year-old mom of three and had been experiencing the worst acne of my life for the past year. I've always had acne off and on since a teen, but the past year I had cystic acne along my chin line and under my jaw like nothing else. Painful. Embarrassing. My doc prescribed this in the liquid form that you pat on. I use it nightly or every other night (along with a RX benzoyl peroxide cleanser first). One month down and acne cleared up almost immediately. I will continue using for maintenance, of course. I'm sensitive to Retin-A, this stuff, though, never leaves my skin dry or burned like Retin-A did."

"Wonderful. Takes a while to work (2-3 weeks), but once it does, it helps significantly. Works well for red, inflamed, cystic acne. I use the clindamycin phosphate 1% lotion—moisturizes a bit and doesn’t aggravate my very sensitive, dry skin. I feel it’s worth mentioning that I have eczema, and it doesn’t bother that either. One bottle lasts me a couple of months."

"I've tried lots of different combinations of treatments for acne over the past 6 months, and nothing was working. I was on Trinessa-Lo birth control (said to help reduce acne; it didn't), started Differin gel, tried more natural cleaners and facial treatments, etc. Absolutely nothing worked until my doctor prescribed Clindamycin. As a disclaimer, she had me switch to a more hormonally balanced birth control (Estarylla), continue to use Differin gel, and use Clindamycin on top of that all. But instantly after using the Clindamycin, I saw MAJOR results within 2 weeks. Just as a tip, however, DO NOT skip moisturizing your face, because this product is pretty drying. I recommend Differin brand moisturizer with SPF in it. My face is now nice and soft and pretty much acne-free!"

"I've used the benzoyl peroxide/clindamycin cream for 7 days, and I officially quit!!! I can usually tough out any initial side effects, but the way my skin burns after applying moisturizer (because it dries the heck out of my skin - seriously, my skin is red and scaly on my upper lip) is unbearable!!!!! I've never felt such a painful burn on my face in my life :("

"I have been using adapalene and clindamycin phosphate gel for 3 days, my skin is getting a severe burn, and I have cracks under my skin. But I had read many reviews which give me positive thoughts, therefore, I hope it will cure my skin eventually. But for now, my skin is becoming worse. If I notice any change, I'll share it for betterment."

"I have been using this lotion for about a month now. At first, it helped reduce my pimples, but I noticed I kept getting more and more pimples. It never helped clear my acne, but it may have not worked for me. However, it might work for others. Everyone's skin is different, just use what you notice works for your skin."

"I've been using clindamycin phosphate 0.1% topical solution along with other topicals twice a day, and I've seen no change till now. My acne is getting worse and becoming inflamed and leaving pathetic and horrible scars. Hoping for improvement in the coming days, as I'm directed to use it for 9 weeks."

"Well, after a year and a half of mysterious weight loss, hair loss, fatigue, night sweats, weakness, swollen glands, and slight depression, I figured out it was the darn clindamycin lotion! I stopped using it and haven't felt better in so long. I mean, it helped clear my skin (mostly), but it's not worth the side effects. I quit sugar before the epiphany (thinking I could have cancer), and so hopefully that right there will cure my skin problem. I also figured out that dairy causes breakouts for me."

"I used clindamycin phosphate 1% gel (on a clean face), and I got a rash on my face quickly. I then washed my face again, and the rash subsided. I then used clindamycin phosphate 1% lotion, and the acne began to clear up quickly. I have been using clindamycin in lotion, gel, and the swab packets since about 2000, and it usually clears up my face very quickly, so I knew what to expect under the usual formula. The lump under the blemish sort of dissipates, and it goes away. I have an old tube of the gel, and it does not cause a rash. It may be an allergy to any changes in the gel base. I will use allergy cream in the future to see what is a zit and what is the rash around the zit. They also usually tell you to use benzoyl peroxide soap once a month, or it stops being effective. I found that to work. I used a coupon from the doctor's office."

"I was prescribed doxycycline monohydrate, benzoyl peroxide, and another cream. The other cream wasn’t covered by my insurance, so I got prescribed clindamycin later on. As I added clindamycin to my routine with the other drugs, my skin got really, really oily, and it broke out. Mind you, my skin was 90% clear before using this gel, and I thought, why not just use it if I was prescribed it as well? Everyone’s skin is different, I'd say if your skin is usually on the oily side, you wouldn’t want to use clindamycin gel."

"I began to use Clindamycin PH 1% Gel and Sodium Sulfacetamide 10% and Sulfur 5% towards the end of the summer for 2 months for my issues with acne on my chin. I had bumps on other areas of my face but mostly concentrated on my chin. My acne is not severe but it's always been an issue, and since I was 12, I have always had blackheads on my nose and chin. This gel did not work for me, I didn't notice any change on my face, the pimples, bumps, and blackheads remained the same, they became more noticeable. It was irritating on my skin, and it made my skin extremely oily, and since I wear makeup, it became an issue. The cleanser I do enjoy, it clears your pores, and my skin has never been softer, but the gel I do not recommend."

"Genetically, I am cursed with acne. For years as a young teen, I struggled with acne on my forehead and cheeks. I tried every potion and cleanser out there, to no avail. When I went for my physical, my doctor noticed how bad my acne was and prescribed clindamycin gel, and boy has it worked wonders. I have very sensitive skin, yet this did not seem to make things worse. I have occasional breakouts, but my skin looks absolutely fantastic after 5 months of use."

"My dermatologist prescribed this to me a week ago (clindamycin medication T gel). She told me to use it for 2 weeks and go for a follow-up if it doesn't work. I have numerous acne and small bumps on my chin and forehead. Since day 1, my acne is coming out and breaking out more, but the thing is, after 3 days, they immediately dried up. I'm on my 6th day now and having problems with my forehead because the small bumps are looking bad, they have become bigger even on my cheeks. Anyways, it hadn't been a week since I started using it, so I might as well continue with this gel and wait to take its effect."

"I’ve been trying to treat my hormonal acne since the beginning of 2017, which feels like 4 years now, even though it’s only been 1. I took Spironolactone for my hormonal acne, which did (listen when I tell you little) little amount to clear my face. It mostly kept my oil at bay. I decided to go back to my derm in 2018, and she prescribed doxy 125 mg a day. No easy drug by any means, and clindamycin phosphate gel. I was reluctant at first because I had previously been to a different derm with no luck (spiro) and felt defeated and broke. I’ve been on the antibiotics for a month now, and I’d say in combination with the doxy, my acne has cleared about 90 percent. I find this utterly groundbreaking since I genuinely believed this is something I’d ALWAYS deal with. They say it doesn’t work well for people who have oily skin, but I disagree. Because of the alcohol in it, it helps keep my oil at bay. But it’s not drying like Retin-A or Panoxyl. Definitely worth visiting a doctor about, that’s all I can say."

"My doctor prescribed clindamycin and another topical treatment for my acne. I put it on a cotton pad morning and night and put it on my face. Normally I have more dry skin, but it didn’t dry me out. Within a couple of days of using it, I noticed a huge difference. Less acne was forming. I have used it for almost a year now, and my skin is as clear as it’s ever been!"

"Best of any prescription or OTC acne product I've used. No irritation or drying (like retin-a or benzoyl peroxide cause). This doesn't seem to do much for whiteheads but works really well to prevent red inflamed acne. I think because acne is caused by pore blockage and bacteria aggravates it. This doesn't unclog the pore but keeps the bacteria from making it red and inflamed. Helped a lot before Accutane and is helping a lot now. The only thing that works better faster is Aczone. The best part of this is it is so cheap and surprisingly effective. Good for sensitive skin."

"Works well when combined with Accutane. If you get dry skin, CeraVe (available at CVS Pharmacy) is great because it's a very thick lotion. It has really cleared up all of my little pimples, but the large pimples still pop up. I use it once a day (at night)."

"My derm gave me this along with minocycline. I had it in the strongest strength and as the topical solution. Stopped using going into 2 weeks because all it did was cause severe redness and irritation and made my pimples bleed (I never even popped them or anything). My skin looked horrible. I broke down the whole next week until my skin went back to normal. PS - It burns like heck."

"This medication is amazing. My daughter first started using it for moderate acne. It cleared her skin in a matter of days. I was so impressed, I decided to make an appointment and try it for myself. I have been using Differin gel (which definitely makes a difference), salicylic acid, and benzoyl peroxide for some time. It helped, but didn’t clear my acne completely. In the past, I have been on Accutane, Retin-A, and a host of other medications for moderate acne with occasional large, painful cysts. Acne was the bane of my existence. Within a couple of days of using the clindamycin, my skin completely cleared. I use it twice daily in combination with Differin, benzoyl peroxide, and salicylic acid. For the first time, I don’t worry about having acne. As long as I’m using this, I don’t break out anymore at all. Best acne medication ever, personally speaking."
