Chlorpromazine "I was on this medicine along with Stelazine back in 1971. I hated the way it made me feel, but I had had a nervous breakdown, and my doctors told me to take it, so I did. I got fired from my job, and overall, this drug reduced my life to being not worth living. My side effects were extreme fatigue and oversedation. Overall, a miserable feeling similar to hay fever."

"I had a psychotic episode last year. It's gone now, but I was given this medication to help ease the symptoms. I would say it's good for calming you down, and I slept well on it. It did help up until a point, then the voices and hallucinations came back. I got switched to Sulpiride, and that seemed to be more helpful. On a high dose, it does make you twitch a lot, and I struggled to pass urine (a listed side effect). Good for sleep and relaxation, but overall wasn't very effective."

"I have struggled with bipolar depression with psychotic features for years. I have tried around 30 medications with no results. My doctor decided to try chlorpromazine to help. The honest truth is it's a lifesaver. Not only do I sleep 8 hours of restful deep sleep, I wake up every morning happy and ready to take on the day. It has helped my depression tremendously and has helped eliminate my psychotic features. The only side effects I have are drowsiness and dizziness, but nothing I can't handle. I take 200 mg at bedtime and will soon ask to raise it to 300 mg. My advice is if you want to be happy, healthy, and sleep great, chlorpromazine is a miracle drug and I could not be more satisfied."
