Chlordiazepoxide for Panic Disorder User Reviews

"I have taken chlordiazepoxide to prevent situational panic attacks for several years. I get panic attacks when at the dentist, flying, or using the subway. Chlordiazepoxide has a slow onset, so it can only be taken before a known trigger for panic. It is not suitable for stopping an attack like Xanax. However, it does not make me feel sleepy or altered in any way, just calm and logical so I can get through the situation normally. I take a one-off dose about 3 hours before a panic-producing situation of 30 mg."

"I have been on this drug for over 7 years, the approximate time I have been alcohol-free as well. I began suffering panic attacks, which is something I have dealt with since childhood. Unfortunately, since the negative opinion of benzos, I have had a difficult time explaining to GPs how this effectively works for me. Why would something I take in a very low dose be an issue?"

"I experience very bad PTSD from a botched medical surgery. But the thing is I work in an operating room, so I need to be able to maintain my professionalism in a highly stressful environment. And this drug does it for me without any side effects."

"This medication (chlordiazepoxide) finally gave me my life back! I was agoraphobic and had panic attacks daily. This lasted for 20+ years! I had some success with Prozac and Wellbutrin, which helped get me well enough to get out of the house. But always with underlying panic attacks everywhere I went. BUT… Finally, a doctor prescribed chlordiazepoxide, and I’ve been cured for 5 years with no side effects! I only wish I had it 20 years ago. Now I am a successful businesswoman, I go everywhere I want to go, and I haven’t had a panic attack or even general anxiety. I owe my life to this medication and the doctor who finally prescribed it! I cannot recommend it enough! This medication completely eliminates panic attacks! I still get normal nervousness, but it is appropriate for the situation. Some doctors refuse to prescribe it, but find one who will, especially if you are dealing with panic attacks and/or agoraphobia. You can have a normal life!"
