"Took medicine for the first time last night. I'm now up at 3 with a migraine. It's extreme, right in the front, similar to a bad sinus headache. Ibuprofen isn't helping. After reading these comments, I am going to stop immediately."

"Have been taking alfuzosin for nearly a year now for BPH, having previously tried tamsulosin. Took two tablets a day originally but have recently reduced to one as dizziness started to become a problem. Side effects are much less than tamsulosin, particularly better ejaculation and no headaches. Urine flow on one 2 mg tablet a day is more of an issue, though, and also getting more swelling in my ankles. I'm thinking of asking my GP to consider an alternative if one exists that can retain the benefits of alfuzosin but without the dizziness."

"I have severe rhinitis, and this drug exacerbates it. I am taking Flonase to mitigate this issue. In addition, this drug causes me shortness of breath and a fast heartbeat if I do any exertion, like walking up the stairs. It seems to work well, but the side effects scare me."

"Took for a total of 14 weeks. Experienced extreme fatigue, rubbery weak legs, brain fog. Moderate improvement in flow increase, fewer night visits to the bathroom, and absence of prostatitis-type symptoms. Last week had an onset of tremors in my hands that was severe enough to create difficulties doing things like peeling fruit. Stopped taking and called the urologist who defended the drug. Have not yet noticed any worsening of prostate symptoms after one week. Tremors still present but much reduced. I will keep the pills in case prostatitis returns to use as a last resort. Cannot be certain my negative reactions were due to alfuzosin, but they were coincidental and also very scary, especially the tremors."

"I was taking Cardura (doxazosin) for years, and it did a great job, but after I was diagnosed with cancer, I had the idea Cardura gave me headaches. I was on chemo also for back cancer, and that made the side effects of all the drugs I was on 20 times worse. So, even though I had the radiation, I still needed something. They gave me alfuzosin 10 mg. It works fair at best, no headaches, but less effective than Cardura for sure. Limited dosage makes it less useful as a medicine for BPH and the side effects of radiation. Not bad, but not Cardura either. Waiting for something new to come out."

"I was prescribed alfuzosin approximately 3 years ago and experienced a nearly immediate improvement in urine flow. I had previously tried Flomax and then Cialis. Neither provided any benefit to me and both caused headaches. Flomax also caused stuffy sinus issues. Prior to taking alfuzosin, I was up 3 to 4 times per night. Since taking alfuzosin, I am typically up 2 or 3 times, but some nights it is only once. My flow is still not very strong, but it is improved. I have no adverse effects."

Alfuzosin "I have used Flomax for at least 5 years, the side effects were awful. I started Uroxatral one year ago, and my life changed 100%. This is an excellent medication."

"I've been taking alfuzosin for about a year now. At first, it seemed to work, but in the last few months, I've been getting up every hour to pee. I'm very disappointed in this medication."

"This is absolutely a bad drug, and be careful once it is prescribed to you. It led to high bilirubin levels in my dad's blood in 5 days. He has now a severe jaundice, and he is in intensive care."
