For Supraventricular Tachycardia "First IV 6 mg dose of adenosine failed. (Rapid flush) But responded well to 12 mg dose. ETU patient of Sri Lankan hospital. Probable reason for SVT. Prolonged intake of unknown drug (indigenous medicine)."

For Supraventricular Tachycardia "For 6 years I’ve been controlling episodes with maneuvers. A recent episode I couldn’t control and by the time medics arrived, my bpm reached 190. The first dose of adenosine didn’t work. A 2nd double dose worked. I felt a sense of doom, a sense of burning and numbness in my legs. The feelings lasted less than a minute and heart rate dropped to 103. The mental impact has been rough as I think about the fact that my heart was stopped and restarted. I will be having the catheter ablation procedure done now that I’ve experienced an episode that I could not control."

For Supraventricular Tachycardia "Well, this all happened yesterday. I'm 19 years old, and we were doing PT runs in the morning with the drill sergeant. I have no prior experience with heart issues. Anyway, as I was running, my heart rate felt completely off. After, I ignored it for around 90 minutes and just rested for a bit at chow. Randomly, the chest pains just got too unbearable that I had to tell a drill sergeant, even though I was ignoring it, and I was taken to the ER. Well, a short sum of the story: my heart rate was 244 at resting and was higher, most likely, before they calmed me down. Anyway, they tell me I'm about to feel doom from the injection, and I was like, alright, let's do it. So, he injected it into my vein. I felt nothing for 3 seconds, and then a pain of my heart popping like a balloon. I went to get up, but right after, my heart stopped, and I dropped and came right back. All I can say is it's truly not that bad. It sounds bad, but yes, it hurts. After, I felt great. I walked back to my barracks and changed into uniform for class."

For Supraventricular Tachycardia "Often had on-off bouts of SVT, which I was always able to control, usually with breathing techniques or vagal massage as next steps, and it always jumped back. This one morning, it started on the dog walk through to getting the train to work, head in lap for the duration. Still buzzing and feeling faint. Arrived and crossed the road to the A&E. Seen immediately and taken through. Heart racing at approx 220 bpm. Usual techniques tried, no joy. Given adenosine. The doctor said, 'you tell us what it's like.' It felt like an icy wave moving from my neck to my toes, and my heart reset and beat like normal. The doctor was half-disappointed as he said it's supposed to 'feel like impending doom.' Nah, just very odd and cold. But it worked. Down to 120, but normal enough with all the adrenaline going through me..."

For Supraventricular Tachycardia "I have been diagnosed with SVT for a while now. Last year (May 2023), I had an episode of SVT that lasted around 10 minutes with 250 bpm max. During the episode, I recorded the basic ECG through Apple Watch. After it returned to normal, I went to my cardiologist just to see if anything needs to be done as damage control or prevention. While he was attending to me, the SVT started again. He rushed me to ICU, took ECG, given Valsava, but nothing prevailed. Then they decided to give Adenosine 6mg bolus. This didn't work. They then repeated with 12mg bolus, and it reset the rhythm to 95 bpm thankfully. Initial feeling of Adenosine shot resembles administration of IV Dye that doctors use for kidney imaging. A cold sensation traveling in the arteries. Then suddenly a feeling of everything coming to a stop. The exact feeling when you fall off from a height before you hit the pool water underneath. Very yucky feeling! I hate that sensation. Adenosine has happened twice with me ever since."

For Supraventricular Tachycardia "I guess I'm an outlier, as adenosine (injected) worked immediately on me with no weird side effects. I had a feeling of warmth and then my heartbeat dropped like a stone as I watched the monitor from 173 to 80, and then eventually back to normal in the 60s. I'm 65, so 173 BPM for a few hours with concurrent very low BP was not a pleasant experience. I thought I was a goner for sure."

For Supraventricular Tachycardia "I went into the ER with serotonin syndrome. Sweating, racing pulse, delirious. They rushed me through and got a cardiac doc in, and did full blood work, saline drip, ECG. Then they used adenosine... said I'd feel weird. First time didn't work, it hurt so much. Second time was soooooo much worse. I blacked out, couldn't breathe, and it felt like my entire body was turning into cement. You can literally feel your blood stop moving. It was traumatizing. Worst experience of my life."

For Supraventricular Tachycardia "Had IV adenosine for SVT unresponsive to usual self-care: cold water/valsalva. 3-4 second sensation as if winded. SVT normalized. Minor irritant for successful therapy."

For Supraventricular Tachycardia "I’ve had adenosine twice to treat acute SVT, and it’s fine. You feel weird for a few seconds, but a million times better after when your heart is back to normal speed."

For Radionuclide Myocardial Perfusion Study "I was given adenosine for a non-stress stress test at a cardiac office. Within a minute, I was anaphylactic. Paramedics were called, and after some scary minutes, I was okay. NEVER AGAIN!!"

For Supraventricular Tachycardia "Felt like it also reset my breathing. About 10 seconds of difficulty breathing, followed by an intense warming from heart through carotids to head. Then it was over. It worked!"

For Supraventricular Tachycardia "I had no concept or expectation of what would happen when I went to the ER. My heart rate was super elevated, but I had no pain, shortness of breath, etc. It was SVT, and they gave me 6 mg, then 12 mg of adenosine and some beta blocker. I felt the adenosine immediately each time. It was uncomfortable but not painful. Specifically, remember that I felt it in the back of my neck. It was like a muscle cramp and flushing or heatwave. Thankful that it worked quick and well!"
