Problems with Fecal Impaction?

I was given some amitiza samples to try for opioid induced constipation. In four days I was impacted. It is terrible. I have gone back to miralax and stool softeners every day. It works, but at 3-6 days I have a huge cramping BM. Anyone else with OIC have anything that REALLY helps??

MiraLax - Is it ok to take Miramax everyday and if so for how long?

I take hydrocodone for back pain and have a lot of trouble with constipation. I tried Dulcolax as my doctor suggested but it makes everything I eat taste bad. I have a real bitter taste when I take Dulcolax.

Can Miralax be used for IBS (diarrhea)? I do not have constipation, just diarrhea?

How long, on a average, does it take a dose of Miralax to produce results?

My doctor prescribed Miralax 2xd. That produced very soft stools. Then I took 26gr at bedtime, and the results were satisfactory, but interupted my sleep several times. I would like to time the dose so that the results will be while I am awake and alert.
