... still hadn't gone I took a stimulant laxative that was expired, it gave me cramping but didn't work at all, so I took 2 doses of miralax in 24hrs but woke up this morning and was so uncomfortable with abdominal bloating, fullness and just so uncomfortable that I decided to try an enema so I did that this morning and I kept the whole thing in for 5mins like it said, then I did go to the bathroom finally! I didn't go a lot but I guess I got all the water from the enema out and all the poop it could get to... My question is, is it normal to use an enema, go to the bathroom like that and then not go anymore after that? I am taking some more miralax to get the rest out, cuz I'm still backed up, 2wks is a long time! I do feel a little better since the enema but my abdomen does still feel backed up, crampy and just sore
Fleet Enema - I have been constipated for 2wks now... I took stool softener for 4days but when I?

I have a suggestion. Instead of trying the Miralax again try taking milk of magnesia instead. Doesn't taste that great but it's less harsh than an enema or Miralax.
When I am constipated I usually take milk of magnesia the night before and by morning I'm able to have a bowel movement.
Best of luck

Hi. Is it normal for you to be constipated for that long? 2 weeks is a long time and isn't good for your body. I was constipated almost that long once and I literally had to go to the hospital to get a special kind of enema done. I hope to never have to do that again. Good luck!!
I've been having the same exact symptoms. MOM alone has worked with having elimination. [2 TBS MOM/ with 8oz glass of, water to rinse down] @ bed time.
. Drink more water upon waking up. 8 hours later had a natural urge. But since being so backed up only way to get a good elimination was to either use a (squatty potty/step stool)
in my bathroom could hold onto doorknobs, leaning back over toilet, or simply after urination stood straddling the toilet allowing BM to expell.
(For BM is heavy in colon and having problem getting over the bend that holds it until eliminated.)
Also now trying MirLax? Only way I had a BM was using fleet "Glycerin suppository."
I would recommend the suppositories over liquid enema. I've been having this same constipation issue 4 weeks now.
