Are you able to take Singulair on an "as-needed" basis, rather than once per day?

My main interest in trying Singulair is to help with my "exercise-induced asthma," so I am considering trying it three times a week, on the days that I work out. I will discuss this with my MD but I wanted to get responses from this excellent online community, too. Thanks!
