... Treatment Group"? I have painful peripheral neuropathy from chemotherapy and have been using Gabapentin and Lyrica for four years. I used Cymbalta but now have urination problems (can't urinate easily) so I discontinued it.

Never heard of the stuff. If it were me,I would continue the Gabapentin, then purchase a vitamin;ALPHA-LIPORIC-ACID. You may buy it at any drug store, or at WALLEYWORLD. It helped me a lot, you may have to try two pills a day at first, to experiment, but this is the cheapest answer to my pain/nerve problems. RW
Don't forget to add in the cost of the R-Alpha Lipoic Acid which is different than your average Alpha Lipoic Acid. R version can be hard to find and is more costly than regular ALA. I've done the research to dissect the formula and set out to buy each ingredient separately and I found it to be more costly than the Neuropathy Support Formula. You will be wasting your money and your health if you think regular ALA is going to the job of R-ALA. Read up on it before making a decision. Also, just about any health advocate will tell you that most formulas are much better and less costly than buying separately. I've been taking NSF for quite a while now and swear by it. More feeling is in my toes and fingers and I rarely have any pain now. I don't take any other medications for my neuropathy other than the NSF..not Neurontin, Lyrica or any other prescribed medicines and no other vitamins or minerals.
Hey paindolly,I to have "very painful " peripheral neuropathy.I looked up that neuropathy support formula and all it is the B vitamins (b12,b6 b1 ) ands a few others you can get at any store (walgreens,GNC,cvs... ) but when you add it all up ($) it is alot more $ than the "formula " I hav'ent tried it but check the Mcg's on it.I was given vitamin B12 in a prescription form called FOLIC ACID a more stronger B12 which over time if taken every day can help repair "some" of the nerve damage not all complete.Go on line and bring up that formula and check the mcg and mgs and check the stores and do the math. I myself get the vitamins and other stuff thats in their formula at the stores I mentioned. I see their ads all over the internet saying :92% cure. D'out it. Hope this info will help. Respone to me and let me know status.I take Lyrica day and night ( can'nt sleep cause of the pain) and it helps alot but not near 100%.Even sleeping pills do'nt do it feel alittle better , Treeves1.
B-12 also comes in two forms cyanocobalamin and methylcobalamin (check my spelling). The Neuropathy Formula has the latter. The over-the-counter vitamins contain the cyanocobalamin. This type is made in a lab and contains a trace of cyanide that won't harm you but must be filtered by your liver before you body can absorb the B-12. The methyl type is in its natural form. Over-the-counter vitamins can be lower in cost because they are sometimes artificially made which is cheaper to produce than the natural ingredients. You should read the ingredients are the back of your vitamin bottles to know their content. But without doing your research you wouldn't even know that 2 different types of B-12 exists.
I have idiopathic peripheral neuropathy and have for 10 years. I have taken this formula for about 3 years and am finally getting some relief. The time element is directly related to the severity of your problem and if the causes are still present, i.e. if you are diabetic and still diabetic the causes remain present and the formula will take longer to be effective. I have had no side affects from the formula and believe that the B-12, D and Alpha Lipoic acid and other benefits. Dr friends of mine looked at the composition of the formula and said that most people could probably benefits from it.
Hopes this helps. Good luck
I am just starting my second bottle. I have diabetic neuropathy in my feet, legs and fingertips. I used to cry myself to sleep at night because the pain in my feet was so intense. I tried Neurontin but I really didn't want to add to the side affects that I was getting from my other meds so I decided to try Neuropathy Support Formula after researching for an alternative to medicines. After just 3 days use of this product the pain went away in my feet, legs and fingertips. Before I couldn't even wear shoes for very long because of the pain and had to put my feet up often and wear slippers at work. I have been taking this formula for 6 weeks now and have been noticing that my legs and fingertips are less numb and just today I was testing the feeling in my toes and have noticed more feeling in them as well. The company suggests taking it for at LEAST 3 months, 4 is best, to see results. I have no regrets using this product and have been suggesting it for others as well. Hope you give it a try and that it works well for you.
well thank you someone whom actually does answer the question, are the rest of you having brain neuropathy, because this id is the only person that answered the question, the rest of you should run for public office, because you evade the true question at hand!?
Are you still takeing the Support Formular? If so have you experanced any side effects. If not why?
I am about 4-5 months into taking Neuropathy Support Formula. I still have numbness but not as much as before taking it. I recommended this product to a friend of a friend who has HIV and has to take many, many medications including Neurontin. His medications left him in so much pain for so many years that he was willing to try the Neuropathy Support Formula. I was just recently told that after just a months supply he is free of pain. He went from taking 4 pills a day to 6 pills a day fairly quickly. It was suggested to me that if I can tolerate it then I should up my pills from 4 to 6 a day. My stomach gets queasy when I take 6 a day. I try to take 2 in the morning, 2 late afternoon then 2 before bed but still get queasy so for the time being I will be taking 5 then slowly add another to make it 6 a day. I am no where near the pain I used to feel but since I still have a little pain in my feet and still have numbness I will increase my dosage and hopefully see more results.
Other than a queasy tummy I have NO other bad side effects from this medication..only good side effects.
I have peripheral neuropathy due to chemotherapy... at least thats what my oncologist said... my regular physician has been prescribing Gabentin for about three years now... I am now up to 1200 mg per day... I don't see that it does anything at all for and never have seen any change other than my pain keeps getting worse... my feet are pretty much numb and tingly halfway up my calves... I do feel it when I stub my toes, but otherwise the best way to describe my feet are that they mostly just feel like clubs... sometimes I walk like I've had a stroke because I can't feel my feet like I should... I have muscle pain (charley horses) all over my body all the time... I have to get up several times a night to walk them off, and during the day the same... I not only get the painful cramps in my legs and feet, I get them in my ribs, my sides, my lower stomache, all over my back, my neck, my fingers and hands, and my face...
I have difficulty walking a lot of the time, and it hurts to sit for long periods of time... I have been told that I should be getting disability but I applied last year and never got a reply... I believe its because I didn't send in any letters from my doctors...
I no longer have my oncologist because I don't have insurance and I can't afford him... I no longer have my ENT for the same reason... and my general physician is actually a PA and says that she is not allowed to write a letter on my behalf for disability... I have no idea where to go for help to get disability because I can't afford the high fee's of these doctors...
The Gabapentin hasn't done anything for me as far as I can tell... all I know is that my pain seems to keep getting worse...
I'm so sorry for all of your pain. Damn that chemo!!! My neurologist has diagnosed my neuropathy pain condition from chemo as "monoclonal gammopathy unknown signifcance" or MGUS. My oncologist monitors a protein in my blood that could signify Multiple Myloma which can occur from MGUS. You may want to try Lyrica if you can afford it. Gabapentin alone did not work for me but the Lyrica/gabapentin combo works much better for body pain as well as neuropathy pain. It is prescribed for people with fibromyalgia and rheumotoid arthritis. The side effect is a "foggy brain but is worth the fog if it relieves at least some of the pain. I wish you the best!!!
It is a bit interesting that noone notices ,no answer to the question have you taken neuropathy support formula and what was your experiences .THIS was never ANSWERED duhhhhhhhhhhhhh?
I just read this in the book; NUTRITIONAL HEALING BY James E Balch MD.This book has been the closest answer to having a doc in your book-case.On the chapter about cramps it describes the stuff you need to overcome cramps, or you may be short on; Calcium 1,500mg daily.Magnesium 750mg." ''. Vit.E-400 to 1,000 IU. Potassium 100 m,g. Try these pills and let me know how you feel.RW
The answer is no. How much does the formula cost, or have you tried it yet?RW
I tried the neuropathy treatment formula as suggested by the company, for 4 months. It did nothing for me. I have neuropathy in my feet. I also tried acupuncture with no success.
I have been using Neuropathy Support Formula for approximately three weeks, and have just added 300mg of R-factor Alpha Lipoic Acid (purchased on my own, far cheaper than The Neuropathy Group's "additional" supplement. I did price out all the ingredients, how long they would last if I purchased them all separately and took about 15 more capsules than I do right now (on a vitamin regimen), and it was far cheaper at the $50 a month. Back to results. I have had really good improvement in the "electric spider webs" in my feet and ankles. It was "crawling" up my legs, which is what made me research a bit further. I have Type II DB. Since adding my own ALA supplement, 300mg per day in the morning, it's getting even better. The ONLY drawback of the neuropathy supplement AND ALA is that it gives me a slight upset stomach, almost like you're coming down with the flu. So I countered it with Marshmallow Root capsules.
I take four with the supplement in the morning (don't need it in the evening because I go to sleep). Suffice it to say, I am VERY pleased right now. If you are getting cramps in your body and legs, get HYLAND's Leg Cramp dissolvable tablets. They're amazing. I use them for restless legs, but they are specifically for leg cramps. They works great. Try Swanson's Vitamins online, inexpensive.
nobody answered the question because they figured you are just promoting the product, not trying to find out about it.
Dear FrankMeans: I don't sell the stuff. If you had read the post you would see that I wouldn't buy their hawked R-ALA because the pricing was too high. THE STUFF WORKS. PERIOD. I'm on week five. INCREDIBLY better. Hey, let them go out and buy the ingredients, I priced them out. VERY expensive for one month, the neuropathy price is much better (AGAIN, not selling this product), just it's effectiveness.
I was diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy in 2010. My Environmental Medicine specialist told me to take Alpha Lipoic Acid. I used Walmart brand but it was only 200 mg of S form ALA. I found out by doing research that there are 2 kinds of ALA, R form and S form. Just about everyone sells the cheap S form which doesn't work very well. I am Celiac so I require the most pure form of supplements that I can get, free of gluten. Neuropathy Support has the purest form that I could find when I started using it about 5 years ago. I buy the product that is called Nerve Repair Optimizer, 300 mg Standardized R-ALA per capsule, it is 100% Pure R form ALA. It is expensive, but if I take one in the morning and one in the evening, I HAVE NO SYMPTOMS! What's that worth to you? It is also great for your skin! My wrinkles melted away after I went on ALA. What's that worth to you? I'm just glad that one product has 2 major benefits. You can probably find less expensive form R ALA products. I'm sticking with what I found works for me.
I have never heard of "Neuropathy Support Formula". Did the gabapentin help you any at all?
The Neuropathy Support Formula is advertised on the Drugs.com pages. The gabapentin does help with the neuropathy but it makes me dopey and sleepy and I am now having other side effects -- increased blood sugar for one. I'd love to find something else but there is really nothing else at this time.
I am getting ready to stop the gabapentin myself. It will be 1 month that I have been on it Tuesday and no change in migraines.
Side effects, I am very weak physically and sleepy.
I hope you find a better medicine for your migraines. Gabapentin's side effects are not worth not getting relief from pain!!!
I just read their ad - sounds interesting. I take Alpha Lipodic Acid 200mg once in the morning and once at night and it helps... I'd like to try the Neuropathy Support Formula once I hear it actually works. I've never taken prescription drugs just the above. No side effects. It's fairly inexpensive - I order it from Walgreens online.
My wife has migraines and she uses what I guess to be a "Holistic vitamin " called BUTTERBUR with feverfew. This is a product of NOW, AND IS FOUND AT WHOLE FOODS MARKET. RW
Try the Neuropathy Support Formula. I've been on it now three weeks, with my own added 300mg of R-factor Alpha Lipoic Acid in the morning (theirs is too expensive, far cheaper to buy your own). It's working great and I'm really happy with it. I have Type II DB and have the "electric spiderweb" thing going on in my feet and ankles. It's slowly but surely dissipating. No I don't work for those people. I just know from personal experience how lousy the neuropathy can get and mine isn't eve a worst case scenario.
For migraines, try Migrelief. You can buy it at most GOOD health food stores. Feverfew extract and Magnesium. I took it for six months after suffering with migraines for years, using all the drugs they could stuff down my throat or up my nose. I took the combination of the two and after six months, I tapered off, that was 7 years ago, off completely and I have never suffered another migraine. Pretty cool, inexpensive, and it works!
