I got my script from my doc yesterday for 1mg clonazepam after previously being on 0.5mg. I filled the 0.5mg at Walgreens and got the Mylan yellow ones, which were ok, but I wanted to try another pharmacy to see if I could get the Teva generic (we don't have CVS where I live). The mylan 0.5s worked just as they were supposed to in my opinion, so no complaints there, but I had noticed extreme incompetence in the 1mg Mylan clonazepam last time I was prescribed them.
So I went to a Sav-On pharmacy and they filled my 1mg script with the "Accord Health Care" generics. They're blue pills with a C 1 on one side and blank on the other, with NO score... which bothers me because my doc's intersections say 1/2 to 1 pill twice a day... and its hard to break a pill evenly with no score sometimes, especially when I don't have a pill cutter handy.
IMO, all generics are pretty much the same and the fact that the FDA makes sure they're tested for dosage and bioavailabilty and metabolism being the same of the brand name, I have no worries buying generic. But I've never seen these before and their website looks sketchy as hell. It makes me wonder if they're a super new pharm company that's lured some pharmacies into buying their generic clonazepam (one of the apparently three drugs they even make... again sketchy) because it's cheap.
I just want to make sure I'm getting my proper dose and that the medication is able to achieve the effect intended by my doctor. Has anyone else tried these Accord clonazepam pills? What do you think?

I have been taking a generic clonazepam for insomnia and dysphonia for about 7 years, at 1 - 1.5 mg at bedtime. The only time I had problems was when my Qualitest ( I believe is no longer available) was switched to Northstar in 2017. It was horrible. It just didn't seem to work at all. I was unable to find Qualitest anywhere but I was told by Winn Dixie that Teva was a good brand and people did not generally complain about it. Once I switched phramacies and got the Teva, I was happy with it. I've been on Teva for several years now (yellow 1 mg scored so that the extra .5 needed occasionally was easy). I'm on here because today I received the blue, unscored Accord brand. I haven't tried it yet, but will do so tonight while I still have 5 of the Teva/Activis pills left to compare. I find it very interesting on this forum that the favorites and the fails differ from person to person.
I don't believe there is just a really good generic and a really bad generic, but that we respond differently to various brands. I hope the Accord works for me and I will report back.

Since this post, it’s gone from bad to worse. TEVA no longer makes these at all. The only 2 generics I can find are made in China — one of which being Accord. I was prescribed 0.5-1mg for years. Worked great. After TEVA went away, or was bought out, I was given Accord. Zero effect. Like a sugar pill. I tried for 1/2 a bottle until my anxiety was unbearable. I researched the company, & just as you wrote in 2011, sketchy at best. There are endless complaints about Accord clonazepam being totally ineffective. This abrupt change & forced limited choice, has affected thousands if not millions of people prescribed. The only other generic I could find also starts with an “A”, also manufactured in China. That one has worked much better — but never the same as prior manufacturers. How can the FDA properly regulate quality control in China? Clearly, they are not. What if this were a life & death heart medication?

After multiple times switching from one generic to the next I still think Teva is superior.I also think that after 20 plus years on it with little side effects makes me qualified to say that.Once Teva stopped manufacturing there clonazepam I was put on Mylan which was the worse for me... Accord which gave me a hangover feeling but I was able to take less ad lastly Actavis which had little side effects and worked but after awhile I seemed to need more. I think its just how each person reacts to the drug theyre not the same because Mylan brand actually worsened my anxiety and made me ill. Overall Accord did have side effects such as dizziness and I felt lethargic on it but it seemed to work. I hate that Teva no longer makes there quality and superior pill because it was always reliable. Im so tired of switching month to month this past year. Its really given me problems trying to get used to one drug only to have to start ovet the next month. Something has to change...
its not worth the hassle anymore honestly.I have to get off this crap and not be at the mercy of drug companies pushing weak pills and Phramacys that are never consistent with quality medicine. I hope others share there experience too.

I spoke with Teva a few days ago. They are in the early stages of bringing back the original formula clonazepam ♡ They have gotten SO many call ins from patients and physicians about the Activas formula not working well, side effects etc. The gentlemen I spoke with told me to call back within in 60 to 90 days to ask about the progress b/c he said it will take a while before it is available again and being dispensed b/c it will be manufactured at a different location.

Wow I really hope that is true about the Teva coming back. I have got to go back on Accord this month. It takes my body time to get used to every switch. I miss the days of just relying on Teva and having no side effects.Taking the Accord has me feeling worried, we shouldn't have to go through this when we're taking a medicine to treat our anxiety. Ever since Ive been off Teva mines ramped up. I really hope they bring it back.

I have tried every Manufacturer of generic Klonopin as well as brand name. I honestly do not see a difference between all of them. We all obviously are anxious people to begin with, and maybe I am just lucky because I do not find a difference in every manufacture I have tried. Maybe I am one of the lucky ones but Accord made me calm, probably more tired then the other brands, but it stopped my symptoms and I felt no tolerance. Again maybe I am one of the lucky ones and feel no difference between manufactures. Accord does dissolve within minutes under your tongue I have never had that with any other manufactures if that helps. God speed.

After getting 1mg Mylan clonazepam for years from Walgreens, they no longer had it. They gave me Teva for 2 months and then ended up with Accord. It's so bad - doesn't work at all and seems to make my depression worse. I take generic requip for restless legs and the same thing happened and the brand make it worse. Walgreens is constantly changing brands on several meds I take, and I assume other pharmacies are doing the same. Today I went to Kroger Pharmacy and they have Solco. Has anyone tried this? It has to be better than Accord.

When Teva stoped making Clonazepam I was switched to Accord and they were like sugar pills! I take 1 mg BID and had to take 2 mg for the same effect! My Dr changed the Rx to 2mg BID which worked but still not as good as Teva!

As a long term Clonazepam user they lack potency. Put me into acute withdrawal. My suggestions is csll the FDA as they thanked me telling me that only 20 percent of unsatisfied patients csll in. There are complaints all over on line. Also not scored, which is a must if you ever plan on weaning off.

How have you been doing on the name brand? I have been on TEVA brand 1mg for 20 years now (started at 0.5 mg then moved up to the 1 mg and have been on the 1 mg once a day for several years). I was given the Accord brand and I had the same experience. AWFUL side effects- after 4 days I could NOT do it anymore and my pharmacy (luckily) had exactly 30 TEVA left. I just ran out of those last week and have started on the ACTAVIS brand (yellow 1 mg) apparently this is the company that bought out TEVA and there "product" is supposed to be the closest to TEVA ... BUT once I take it, I can feel it start to work and then about 2 hours go by and my heart is pounding out of my chest and I cant get a good breath, and I feel as though I haven't taken anything. My appetite is bad too (don't want to eat and when I do I feel like crap). I have 2 full 1 mg TEVA brand that I scored and halved for emergency.
Ended up taking a half yesterday instead of the ACTAVIS and OMG the difference is NIGHT AND DAY. I felt alive again and normal. I really don't know what to do. My doctor told me he would write the script for the name brand if this generic didn't work. So I wanted to ask someone that went from TEVA to name brand to see how they were doing and if it really works. Thanks for any feedback!!!

cwake19, I have been on different brands of Clonazepam (presently 1 mg. tablets) for about 10 years now. Although Mylan brand seems to work the best for me, other brands have still managed to control my extreme anxiety - until this past month. I recently filled my prescription at the local Walgreens that I normally go to. This last prescription I was given does VERY LITTLE for my extreme anxiety attacks. I checked the label and it was the “Accord” brand. After reading the various replies here, I will start making calls tomorrow to my doctor and Walgreens to see what alternatives I have.

I have tried the Accord. Albeit I am on the .5mg so it was scored. You could always ask for .5mg instead and take two. Now It took me over 2 months and it just wasn't for me. It hit faster and wore off faster. But everyone is different.

Thanks to all who have posted as it helps know I’m not in this alone. I had been on Mylan 1 mg at bedtime for years, and I never had any problems especially with it causing problems with other drugs I’ve taken. Then a few months ago, the pharmacist said there was a shortage of Mylan so she gave me Sandoz. That worked about two months, and then I started waking up in the middle of the night shaking and hurting all over. Sandoz is now discontinued so I was given Teva. I’ was up at 5 am with chest pains that didn’t subside for a couple of hours. After talking to the pharmacist she said they have Mylan in stock again so she is trading the two out. I hope the Mylan doesn’t have any reactions to the others I’ve been taking, but I’m starting it tonight. I want to feel normal again. I’ve learned there is a big difference in generic drugs according to the manufacturer.

I use cvs and the other day I noticed that my prescription was different. I usually get TEVA but this time it was Mylan 0.5 mg. Within three days of using Mylan I was having panic attacks like I wasn’t even on medication. I had a few left over Teva and took one and within minutes I felt better. Apparently there is a massive Teva shortage in the US for klonopin. I am going to try Accord from Walgreens 0.5mg. If it doesn’t work I will update this so if you don’t see another response from me you’ll know Accord is good.

Teva has been replaced by the brand Actavis now a Teva subsidiary so technically its still Teva but made by Actavis. Check it our on the Teva generics website.

Thank you for that information! That must be why CVS isn't getting TEVA anymore.

I prefer Actavis but Teva works just as well. I just found out that Teva will no longer be producing Teva Clonazepam and will now be only selling the Actavis brand. All Teva Clonazepam has been obsoleted.

Well, that sucks. I liked the Teva brand. However, I've been using the Accord brand for about a week now and it seems to be working fine. I'm also cutting back to try to come off clonazepam altogether so if I do have any side affects I won't know what to blame them on... lol Still, I wish they'd quit messing with our scripts!

Still on Accord it's been two months. They give me extreme tiredness and wear off much more quickly than Mylan. Also constant stomach issues since I've been on them mainly diarrhea. I've tried all the others and now Teva isn't making them anymore either and switching to brand is not an option.
