Yesterday I picked up my prescription and realized it's by a manufacturer I have never heard of, Zydus/Nesher Pharmaceutical. I have found Sandoz to be most effective for me, and noticed a difference when my script was filled with Teva once before so I spoke with my pharmacist. My pharmacy is kind enough to do what they can to keep Sandoz in stock for me, but occasionally it's unavailable. I'm curious to know what others are experiencing with Zydus in it's efficiency to get an idea what I could expect from this medication over the next month. It's somewhat newer and haven't found a single review so even if you personally haven't taken Zydus brand generic but come across a review I'd appreciate you passing it along. Thanks in advance for any feedback!
Has anyone had the generic Adderall by Zydus/Nesher? 20mg?

So I recently started taking adderall I'm on 5mg and started with ALVOGE and honestly loved it! Felt like my life was fixed and everything was gonna be okay, until I got ZYDUS 5MG and not to be dramatic but my racing thoughts has intensified so much it prevents me from getting my tasks done and overall I feel like my world is falling apart! But then I don't take it and I realize how silly I was
2/5 don't recommend ZYDUS brand
I have been on and off Adderall for the last 10 years or so. I use to take vyvanse but it lasted too long and I like to sleep at night so I decided to get moved to Adderall 20mg instant release. I’ve had only ever gotten Sandoz and Teva brands, but the last time I got refilled I noticed that they were manufactured by Zygus. I have seen that these actually take a little longer to hit than the teva’s, but they last considerably longer. That’s my take. Thanks for letting me share my opinion.
Yes it works
I have had lifelong ADHD sprinkled with bouts of Obsessive/Compulsive. I have been on most all the generics at one time or another. I am currently on Zydus 20MG because my local Pharmacist cannot get the TEVA 20MG which I am prescribed 3 a day. I do not always take full dose it depends on how my day is stacked up, sometimes it is fun not to focus. I have been on the Zydus for about 3 months and last month the pills changed. They went from a peach colored oval (N955) to a round lighter color (F6). I like most who deal with lifelong ADHD am very brand sensitive and have had very serious reactions to some generic brands(Aurobindo, Aurolife) so please take this for what it is "My Experience". I prefer TEVA it works for me consistently and I am able to manage my dosing around the way it metabolizes in my system. When I take TEVA it puts me on point almost instantly, literally within minutes.
4-5 hours later it drops me just as fast and I know it is time to dose. At night I am able to put myself in position so that while I am dropping off my last dose I am ready for bed and no trouble sleeping. Now with the old Zydus I tried to apply it on my normal routine and I would find that either the first dose of the day would not seem to work and other days it would be the second but never had a full day focus as would be with TEVA. Sleeping has been an issue on the Zydus. I am able to fall asleep but almost every night wake up 1-2 hours later and wide awake. On the new Zydus It seems stronger than the old (N955) because several days when I took the second dose I almost felt nausea and a racing feeling and sleep is no more than an hour, I know from experience that only happens from over dosing myself. The best I have felt on the New Zydus is when I can delay taking first dose till about 9 am and provided I can wrap my day up by 3-4 pm I only take 1 20mg pill for the day and I felt good all day.
So I hope this helps. I do accept Zydus as an alternative I am just trying to figure out how to set up my routine around its metabolic properties. I have also been on SANDOZ and found it to be a good reliable alternative as well.
I’ve been using the Adderall generic 20 mg from Zydus for years and find it as effective as the Teva brand.
I finally got on generic Adderall. Got it filled at Kroger. First month was amazing. Got a refill there and it was nothing. Like a placebo. Pharmacy tech told me first prescription was same manufacturer as this refill - Zydus. They could not or would not give me the lot numbers for each and just said they go through a different bottle a day because they prescribe so much. So frustrated. It has impacted my ability to work/focus. Going back to pharmacy today to ask them to switch out remaining pills with a new lot number, but doubt they will do it. Unbelievable there is not more quality control on generics although i have been taking other generics for years and only ONCE had an issue. Happened to be with generic blood pressure meds, but the next re-fill was fine again. And brand Adderall IR in Dallas right now is $487 for the 20 mg.
Please fill out a med watch report with the FDA if you have had any side effects with this med. https://www.accessdata.fda.gov/scripts/medwatch/
this needs to be off the market. I experienced increased depression, dizziness, felt everything around me was in slow motion, could not focus. Was in a total brain fog. I have been taking generic brands of Adderall for well over 20 years, and never had one that made me feel like this.
Worst generic IR out there. You should avoid it all costs and we should all file complaints. I was seriously ill from taking this for many months before I made the connection.
I went to pick up my adderall from Kroger’s. They gave me a new generic brand made by Zydus. This medication was poison for me. This caused me to have severe depression, very fatigue. I was not myself at all. I’m a very energetic person. I took this medication twice a day for 4 days. The symptoms started to get worst. I decided to stop taking. Contacted my doctor. She agreed..I have been talking Adderall for years no problem.
Yes, I’ve had them and to me, they are as awful as aurobindo. I honestly have no clue how the FDA passes these off as being the same as the brand. I have always used Teva and then 3 months ago I suddenly couldn’t find them. It’s been a horrible transition. Hope they work better for you.
Hello! I have not experienced a difference among the variations of the brands, but I do see that there is cotton in the bottle separating the different companies and the pharmacist stated that it is indeed hard to come by as the kids are now back to school after being off of it in the summer, so that's a big reason for the shortage. I hope this helps with at least one of the reasons of why the market is slim right now.
I completely agree that the Zydus version is awful. I take the 30 mg and it feels more like a 5 or 10 mg dose. I hate it that all the generics for this medication are so wildly different. I've had other generics in the past that failed and it makes you feel powerless. Who has the time to call 10 pharmacies to track down a generic that actually works? From month to month I never know what I'm going to get and the side effects are all wildly different, but Zydus is particularly bad! It makes me exhausted and I also feel like I'm in some sort of brain fog.
I take Adderall IR for extreme fatigue that's associated with my depression. It used to help my mood as well as my energy level. For the past few months I've been taking Zydus brand and it hasn't been giving me any boost in energy or mood at all. I thought I had just built up a tolerance to Adderall but today I got a new prescription that's made by Epic. After taking a 15 mg pill, I have so much more energy than I did while taking the Zydus brand. I will be sure to specify from now on that I cannot take any medication that's made by Zydus. I feel like filing a complaint to the company!
I take both XR and IR versions of Adderall. My morning XR dose is generic by Prasco and seems to be fairly consistent. The IR generic by Zydus/Cadila is horrendous. Not only is it like taking nothing at all, it leaves me in an unfocused, depressed fog for the remainder of the afternoon and into the evening. I've taken this medication before and know what it should feel like. Sandoz, Teva, and Prasco have pretty decent reps, but if you look online you'll start to notice that there are a growing number of quality control complaints on Zydus generics. I already spoke w/my PharmD today about it at Kroger, and will be launching a formal complaint w/Zydus on Monday. From what I can tell many people are starting to have similar experiences with their meds either losing effectiveness, or even making them sick. I'm SO unhappy with this, and will NEVER accept from Zydus again.
I don't have experience with Adderall. Zydus is a pharmaceutical company that manufactures its products in India (not New Jersey, don't be confused--- that's its distribution point). My pharmacy switched a med I was taking that was made in New York (from Par) to "same" product made by Zydus (even put it in Par packaging) and it took me about one minute to know something was seriously wrong. They promised to switch me back. Beware of Zydus or anything that says Cadila.
