Reviews for Seasonique to treat Abnormal Uterine Bleeding

Yes, this medicine was a life saver in the begining. But recently I have felt as if I am losing my mind and myself. I have constant anxiety and when it turns into a panic attack it is draining. I have apocalyptic feelings and struggle to believe myself and others. I would recommend to not go on this medicine and save yourself the mental pain, because there are other measures that can be taken.

This medication is absolutely awesome! I had been taking Ortho-Tri-Cyclen for years and had continuously suffered from break through bleeding. I have tried other birth control medications but nothing helped until I decided to try Seasonique. It is a miracle drug, no more mood swings or abnormal bleeding. This pill is a life saver!

I've been on this pill for almost 3 months, only 1 week away, but I've been bleeding since the second week I started this pill. I haven't had any weight gain, acne problems, but I have had a significant decrease in energy (which with how much I enjoy running, is not working out because I would rather sleep all day and lay around and that's not me at all). Also sex drive = none existent and I should have the urge at 23, but just isn't there. So, this definitely isn't the right pill for me. It did eliminate the cramping though, but the bleeding and being worn out is too much to handle.

I started this pill to only have 4 periods a year. I don't need the Birth Control because my husband is "fixed". I was like clockwork every 28 days, but my period would last 7 horrible days. I had major bleeding, clotting and cramps. So, I thought this would help with both the flow and amount of time. I started the pill 8 weeks ago, since then I have been bleeding (enough to wear a pad) for 4.5 of those weeks. My breasts are super sore, and have grown a cup size. I have had cramping for most of the time. I'm going to stop because it's causing the very thing I'm trying to eliminate.

I have been on Seasonique for 1 year and ever since the beginning I can't stop bleeding. This last cycle has been 28 days of straight heavy bleeding. I would rather be pregnant again.

I have been on this pill for about a month and on my second week I am bloated, never hungry, have mood swings and don't want to get out of bed in the mornings. Also I started light bleeding like when you are coming off your period.

I started taking this medicine in December, got sick and forgot a pill. I got my period it lasted 15 days and I wasn't supposed to have it yet. Then my doctor changed me to a different one. Started taking that one and within a few days I started bleeding again. It would be a great thing to only have a period every 3 months, but the side effects for me made it worse.

I am currently on my second pack of Seasonique. I was previously on Yaz which worked great for me but I wanted only 4 periods a year. I am trying to look past the side effects because having only 4 periods a year, you are willing to take a sacrifice. I have experienced severe breast tenderness during the first few months also my acne has gotten a little worse. I have been breaking out with a rash since I've started the medication, and have had mood swings in the beginning. I haven't spotted at all, the periods are fine and manageable, but I feel Yaz had more positive effects like clearing my acne and not making my hormones go out of control, but 12 periods compared to 4? I am still on Seasonique and willing to let my body get adjusted.

After reading all the horrible comments on sites about this medication, I thought I would add my positive ones. I have been on it a little over 4 months now. As of the 4th month, I stopped all bleeding. Very few side effects at first, maybe being tired (I was anemic too), a little nausea and cramps right at first, but getting past all that, the bleeding finally stopped. This is a wonderful medication. Don't let the negative comments impact you. Each of us react differently. I have fibroids and the bleeding was very bad. They didn't know if this would help or not, worth the shot. Glad it is so far. Just don't give up at first even if you want to. Give it at least until the 4th month for your body to adjust.

I've been taken Seasonique for two years. Overall, I'd say that I love it - its nice not having to worry about a period every month. However, there are some side effects. I have noticed my personality has changed tremendously. I no longer get enthused about things, butterflies in my tummy don't exist for anything. I get really nervous and paranoid as well, and it started after I started taking Seasonique. My hair has also thinned out SLIGHTLY and not very noticabley around the deep end of my part, but its really not a big deal. My periods dont start until the 4-5 sugar pill though! it's great! However, I'm switching to Sprintec because I'm sexually active and waiting for 2 months to find out if you're pregnant doesn't enthuse me very much.

I have been on birth control since I was 12 and am now 20. I suffer from Menorrhagia as well as various other medical conditions pertaining to my reproductive system. I have literally tried 10 birth controls; Yaz, Yasmin, Ortho Tri-Cyclen, Ortho Novum, Depo Provera, etc. I have always had my period for 3 months (that being a short period for me), and this is THE ONLY birth control that has regulated me. I am so happy with this birth control and highly recommend it. There are always side effects from any type of birth control, but this one has only given me tender breasts. I can't complain too much, as the others did not work sufficiently in regulating my flow, reducing my period length, controlling my moodiness -- but this birth control did.

Since I started using Seasonique 3 weeks ago, I haven't stopped spotting. Today my face was so bloated and I had really bad stomach cramps.

Seasonique made my face break out, I had a lot of spotting and abdominal cramps. I was prescribed Seasonique to regulate my periods, and it did the exact OPPOSITE! Since day one of starting this product I have had to wear a pad because of the spotting.

Since aged 12 I had cramps that would literally make me throw up, bleeding that was so heavy it took 10-12 super tampons a day, and prolonged periods of up to a month. This medication was a lifesaver. My period is now light, few cramps and very short. It helps with my problems. But of course there are some things I don't particularly like. My sex drive is absolutely zero (my boyfriend doesn't appreciate that) and I'm more emotional than ever. Random crying outbreaks happen, and the feeling of raging.
