For Birth Control "I love this stuff! I've had no bad side effects at all. I have painless periods now, when before I used to be in bed all day from period pains. The only bad thing I've noticed is that some months I will be very moody while on my period. I also notice that the morning after taking the first pill of each pack I feel a bit nauseous when waking up, but it goes away within a few minutes (which is normal when taking anything with hormones). I started taking this pill when I was 18 at a 34D cup size, I am now 20 years old, wearing a 32DDD. I think this pill definitely had to do something with making my boobs grow, but hey, I'm not complaining!"

"Been on Levora for about 5 months now, and it's been great: no weight loss or gain, no emotional drastic changes, no change in sex drive. The only problem is the eating habits that rise the week before my period. I literally walk about the kitchen looking for food like a crazy person, nibbling off of everything I can and never getting full. Chocolate is the medicine of choice in the third week of the pack."

For Birth Control "I've used Levora for almost a year now. I do have a heavier period, however, they seem to be getting lighter, which freaked me out at first until I learned that is what this pill is supposed to do. When I do get my period, I tend to get more moody and angry, but when I start the new pack, this moodiness ends. As for birth control, I find it works very well."

"I have tried almost every type of birth control out there, and this is definitely my least favorite! I initially gained weight when switching from the ring to the pills and then switched to Levora from Sprintec, and it's been a disaster. I gained more weight and can't get rid of it despite dropping to a 1200 cal/day diet and running/walking at least a mile 4 x week. I also have lost my libido almost completely (bad for a soon-to-be newlywed!) and have acne I haven't had in at least 6 years."

For Birth Control "Terrible experience! Levora is a very dangerous birth control! After only 3 weeks of taking this birth control, I experienced shortness of breath, very acute chest pain, and headaches. Prior to taking Levora, I was in very good health. I work out 3 times a week, and I am in pretty good shape. I never had headaches, absolutely never experienced chest pain or shortness of breath. After only 3 weeks of taking Levora, I was very scared! The chest pain was so strong that it would wake me up at night, and I could not sleep! After 3 weeks of using this pill, I stopped. Please do NOT take this pill! It’s extremely dangerous! I had a CT scan to verify if there were any blood clots in my lungs and a radiology of my legs! This birth control is the worst and will give you serious health issues! PLEASE DO NOT TAKE IT!"

For Birth Control "I've been on and off birth control for 5 years, and I was on Levora for a couple of months before I decided I didn't want to be on any birth control. I recently started taking Levora again, but I quickly remembered why I stopped taking it before: HORRIBLE breast tenderness and swelling, to the point where I'm constantly thinking about how bad my breasts hurt. It's hard to concentrate or move or do anything because they're always hurting, just wondering if anyone else experienced this and if so, if it goes away at some point? If not, I have to get off of this!"

For Birth Control "I had been taking Levora for almost two years but decided to stop because I realized many negative aspects could be contributed to it. Yes, it was a successful birth control because I never got pregnant, but I developed acne for the first time in my life (I'm 21). The acne could not be contributed to anything else - I'm a healthy and active vegetarian with an esthetician for a mother. I also had no sex drive, which was my first major red flag that something serious was out of whack. I also went from a D to an F cup - cool for my boyfriend but not for my wardrobe. It was almost impossible to lose weight. However, periods were short, with no cramps or spotting, and I never got pregnant. I switched to the lower-dose Lutera this week."

For Birth Control "This is the worst ever. I'm crazy - I cry all the time and I've only been on it for 3 weeks and have had a 3-week bleeding cycle. I have little clots coming at least once a day. My partner thinks it's better to be off of it and just use condoms!!! Terrible pill, DON'T TAKE IT..."

For Birth Control "I've been taking Levora for about 6 months. It does its job - prevents pregnancy. But I have gained weight, become depressed, and I have a LOT of acne when I used to have a clear face. On the plus side, though, my periods are light and on time every month. I also don't experience cramps, when I used to throughout my entire period."

For Birth Control "I've been using Levora for 4 months now and have really seen a difference in my period. It's lighter, and I already had a light period to begin with, so this was a concern as I went on birth control since I have experienced other brands make my period heavier. I also believe my general PMS has seen improvements. However, I haven't noticed a difference in bloating. All in all, a big fan. Bear in mind, as many of us know, what works for one woman's body might be terrible for another's."

For Birth Control "I have been using birth control for going on 4 years, 16-20. I got on them for the purpose of having extremely heavy periods with horrible cramps and acne. I took Levora for about 2 years (no sexual activity), and I took it nonstop to completely stop my period. Bad idea. I had breakthrough bleeding and severe cramps for over 3 months of heavy bleeding. They put me on the strongest pill possible after that to try to stop my period from the continuous bleeding, didn't work, although I did lose a lot of weight. For the last year and a half, I've been sexually active, and the strongest pill didn't work, so they put me back on Levora with a seasonal period, and I haven't gotten pregnant and my acne is good and my period is gone! Other than every season."

For Birth Control "I have been taking Levora for the past 6 months or so. I LOVE IT. I have no severe side effects except tender breasts sometimes. Sex drive has also definitely increased. The only problem I have with Levora is that when it's time to take the 'reminder' pills, it takes a few days to get my period... it always scares me... but so far, my period has always come. ALL IN ALL, I'M VERY HAPPY WITH LEVORA."

For Birth Control "I have been on Levora for just over a month. My emotions feel the same as always, and my face has been totally blemish-free, so that is awesome (where I used to have period breakouts). But these BOOBS!! They itch SO bad!! I assume it is because they are growing (I read that it can be a side effect), but I work at a high school, and it's not exactly appropriate to constantly have your hand inside your shirt to scratch your boobs. Kinda wanna rip my nipples off, hard to even wear clothes because they are so sensitive! Ugh!! Otherwise, no spotting or mood swings, and hoping that in three months' time, I won't have to pluck my chin as much! That will be the big deciding factor on keeping up with this pill!"

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "This birth control works great. I've been taking it near 8 years now, and no problems. It may be of contributed to a few lbs, but not much else. Lessened my periods from 7-11 days of heavy flow to 4-5 days and relatively light. My skin hasn't really changed, and it does not contribute to any emotional changes."

For Birth Control "To those of you experiencing side effects within the first 3 months-I would advise you to stay on it and see if the side effects subside. For the first 2 months or so, I had persistent crying for no reason at all (my boyfriend was unbelievably confused), but that went away after 2 months. Also, I had terrible, painful, oozing acne all over my face ever since about 4th grade, but after a few months of Levora, my skin is perfect. I have people constantly asking me what my secret is! My sex drive has stayed the same. I gained 20 lbs almost right away, but my pants still fit, so it's not a major problem for me. My only issue is with spotting and breakthrough bleeding. Going to the doc tomorrow to talk about that."

For Birth Control "I've been on it for a month and a half, and prior, I had very little issues with depression other than small bouts that hardly count as depression. I have had anxiety, and being on this pill has made it worse, way worse, and it has made me become depressed. I've read through the comments about this pill, and it seems like many people have been experiencing depression. This pill didn't work for me, and the other pill didn't work great for me either. Messed up my hormones too much, luckily, it didn't change my sex drive, but it caused me to just sit there and cry or do nothing. Weekends, I feel like doing nothing but sleep. I'm not that old, only 19, and have never had any hormone issues before this pill. I don't recommend it."

For Birth Control "I took the Depo-Provera shot starting from 16-20. I absolutely loved the shot other than not ever really knowing when my period was going to be. I actually lost weight on the shot, and my breasts grew larger than before. I had a great sex drive as well. I switched to the Levora pill simply for the fact that I knew I wanted to become pregnant one day and knew if I took the shot for too long that it might affect that. I chose Levora because I only have four periods a year (which is great!). However, I have been taking this pill for three and a half years, and I have noticed some negative side effects. I have been slowly, over time, gaining weight. I also never used to have acne, and I have some acne problems now. I also have a low sex drive and difficulty staying wet."

For Birth Control "I've been on the Levora pill for 3.5 years now. My breasts never got any bigger, and I got a bit of acne that I ended up getting medication for. My periods have been really light, as others are saying. However, I'm an athlete and have just been diagnosed with osteopenia (early onset of osteoporosis), and I'm only 22. Basically, the Levora has inhibited my calcium intake for almost 4 years, so my bones are becoming less dense. Getting off of the pill immediately."

For Birth Control "Being on Levora for 3 months. I’ve experienced a lot of acne, lots of weight gain, which is not good because I’m a diabetic. My period came late. I’ve suffered from depression, but these past 3 months, my mood swings have been off the chain. So unfortunately, I’m stopping Levora. Maybe try something different, because this is not it!!!"

For Birth Control "I just started taking Levora. I am wondering if the bad feeling is going to go away. In the mornings when I brush my teeth, I feel like I want to vomit. It gives me the feeling as if I am pregnant, and I am waiting to see if this is going to continue, else I really have to stop taking it."

For Endometriosis "I was prescribed Quasense about 2 years ago for endometriosis and was very happy with it, but after changing medical insurance, it was no longer an option, so I switched to Levora about 3 months ago. My endometriosis symptoms are still at bay, but I have gained weight, and not pounds, but I've just gotten flabby with an increased appetite. I feel lethargic, and I'm not sure if it's the pill or the 'weight gain', but my sex drive is at an all-time low. So, I guess here I go again into the sea of birth control meds. I refuse to gain weight and feel bad about myself. Of course, all pills affect everyone differently, so you might as well try it. Just wanted to share my own personal experience with someone who may have had a good reaction to Quasense."

For Birth Control "I took Levora for the first time when I was 21, and the first day I felt really bad. I felt nauseated all day, I wanted to quit then and there, but I am honestly glad I did not. It was great after that, I did not experience any weight gain or acne issues."

For Birth Control "I have been taking this medicine for almost 2 years now due to horrible cramping. No medicine worked for my cramping, and I was taking too much medicine. When I first began the pill, my body was way out of whack: pain, sleeping a lot, not too much eating, but after about 4 months, my body got used to it. So I think the pill does help to prevent pregnancy very well, and it does indeed help with my cramping, even though I may have to take a pain pill a few times. Levora is pretty good. You have to be careful about going for more than two days without taking it because you will bleed like a period, and it will last for 2 weeks. I am adjusted to it now."

"I had every side effect listed... gained weight, pimples, mood swings... EVERYTHING. My period was never-ending, cramps made me cry. I was in bed for a week, no joke. My breasts... a simple hug hurt so bad. I got depressed taking this pill."

For Birth Control "I had very few side effects using Levora. Since I took the pill in the evening, I rarely ever felt nauseous. No change in weight. My PMS symptoms were never bad to begin with, but my periods became a bit lighter than normal. My skin didn't improve or get worse. However, after two months, I've decided to switch to another pill with a lower dosage because of this pill's emotional effects. Little things that would normally slightly upset me for a few seconds started to make me cry or be really weepy for an extended period of time. I often can't explain why I'm so upset and don't feel in control of my emotions. I'm not sure that I would change pills if I were single at this time, but my moods have really started to affect my relationship."
