Amrix (cyclobenzaprine) for Muscle Spasm: Regarding the comment above that states Flexeril works but Amrix does not... as a pharmacist, I would like to clarify that both Flexeril and Amrix are brand names of the drug cyclobenzaprine, a muscle relaxant. Flexeril is released all at once, thus must be taken multiple times daily. Amrix is released slowly over 24 hrs, thus it is taken once daily.

Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) for Fibromyalgia: I have Fibromyalgia and compression fractures in my lower back and neck from an automobile accident. I have tried everything for pain and stiffness. I changed doctors and she gave me a prescription for Flexeril 10mg to take at bedtime to help me sleep. For me, this is the best medication I have tried. I had to cut the pills in quarters however because the 10mg was too strong.

Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) for Muscle Spasm: I took Flexeril because I had been feeling intense back muscle pain. I was told that it would make me sleepy and feel relaxed. I took it at 9:00pm thinking it was going to kick in quickly! I was wrong, 15 minutes later nothing! So I made dinner went online, then out of nowhere my neck felt heavy like I couldn't hold my head up and I stumbled to my bed. I saw the clock and it showed 11:00ish. I slept like a baby! Woke up feeling great the next day well rested and my back felt better.

Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) for Muscle Spasm: I was prescribed Flexeril by my primary doctor for muscle spasms in my lower back.
I could only take it for a short time, I felt no relief in the spasms in my back, I had to sleep at least 10 hours with it, or I couldn't get out of the bed in the morning. I am heading to physical therapy, I'm sure they will help much better than a stupid muscle relaxer can.
Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) for Muscle Spasm: I've been using this medicine because I have a very large kidney stone. Unfortunately I'm caught between a rock and a hard place. If I stop the medicine, passing the stones could be painful. But the side effects I'm having are just about as bad. I have to monitor my food intake because Flexeril makes me nauseous all the time. If I eat the wrong food or don't keep food on my stomach I throw up. When I was in the hospital I couldn't figure out why I threw up all the time. I'm not on any other medicines at the moment and this has to be the cause. In the evening, just before I take the medicine again I've noticed the nausea is gone and I start to feel better. But it all comes back with a vengeance once I take that pill again.
Amrix (cyclobenzaprine) for Fibromyalgia: I used Savella for three years without any significant relief other than helping me cope with the ongoing pain. Tried Lyrica which seemed to cause anxiety but recently my pain management doctor started me on Amrix which I take at dinner time and Gabapentin (Neurontin) which I take at bedtime with Ambien. This combination seems to be amazing. I hope it is not short lived.

cyclobenzaprine for Sciatica: I Have used this medicine together with Lortab, when my back totally goes out and all I want to do is lay down. Once my rest time is over, I feel relaxed and do a little stretching on the floor and I feel fine. This medicine definitely helps my condition. I am in my 40's.
Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) for Muscle Spasm: I use Flexeril for muscle spasms that I have in my left arm and shoulder. One of the side effects of this medication is that it causes severe drowsiness. Once I take the medication, I must go to bed immediately. I am able to sleep through the night where before the spasms would wake me throughout the night. When I first began to take the medication, I found that I was very tired when I awoke in the morning. To combat this, I go to bed about two hours earlier. This is appearing to work out well. Now I awake rested and free of tightness, aches, and pains.

Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) for Migraine: I was first prescribed Flexeril in 1994 and have been in love with it ever since. I suffer from recurring migraines and bad sinus headaches. My doctor at the time tried many different remedies, but the combination of 10mg of Flexeril along with 500mg of Naproxen has been a "100%" effective result since I first took it. I only take it when I am at home though because the Flexeril makes me very sleepy. FYI: body size doesn't matter to this little pill as I'm 6'4", 230lbs!

Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) for Temporomandibular Joint Disorder: Helps me sleep, but I don't notice much relaxing of the jaw muscles. I only take 10mg as I don't like pills, so maybe that is why (says I can take up to 20mg). I haven't felt some of what others have said in previous reviews.
Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) for Muscle Spasm: It worked well, this would knock me out for 8-10 hours and I would wake spasm free, only problem it would zombie me out the next day for a few hours.

Amrix (cyclobenzaprine) for Fibromyalgia: I was given this medication for fibromyalgia. Now at 21 years of age I am having heart problems. The first medication they took me off of after the heart problems surfaced was Amrix. Upon further research and communication with Amrix representatives I found that this medication is not supposed to be used for over a period of 3 weeks. Something my doctors obviously were unaware of. Just letting everyone out there know in case they find themselves in a similar situation.

Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) for Migraine: I have used Flexeril for back pain but took one the other night because I had a migraine and couldn't sleep. I've never had relief from any migraine so I was amazed when after about 2 1/2 hours I got out of bed and felt OK to move around. After another hour or two I was feeling drowsy so ended up going to bed but I was happy to discover that Flexeril helped my migraine. It does make me VERY sleepy so I only take it when I don't have much to do the next day. I usually feel lethargic the day after.

Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) for Muscle Spasm: I have taken Flexeril for over 6 years on and off. Using Flexeril for chronic pain due to a fall and a spinal birth abnormality. I cannot take most pain pills. I'm allergic to aspirin. I find that when the pain is so bad that I cannot sleep, Flexeril allows me a good night sleep, in turn I am less agitated. Making me better able to cope with the pain on my own. It has been a life saver for me.

Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) for Muscle Spasm: Had severe muscle spasms. Took 5mg of Flexeril for a day. While it did make the pain lessen, I slept for 12 hours and napped in between. My Doctor told me that the 20mg of Prozac I take daily was the reason I was that tired.
cyclobenzaprine for Muscle Spasm: I'm a 34 year-old male, work out regularly & was prescribed cyclobenzaprine for back pain related to a pulled muscle. Was used in conjunction with physical therapy and the drug helped me get sleep and function during the day by mitigating pain and spasms. Side effects: Severe constipation. Constipation persisted for over a week after I stopped taking the drug. Had to see a Doctor about it. I highly suggest taking laxatives while taking this medicine. Also made me very drowsy. Experienced dry mouth when taking at night before bed as well.
