Active Ingredient

FURAZONE SOLUTION contains 0.2% (w/v)

Nitrofurazone in a specially stabilized water miscible base.

Furazone Solution Indications

FURAZONE SOLUTION is indicated as an aid in the prophylaxis and treatment of superficial bacterial infections sensitive to nitrofurazone associated with wounds, lesions, cutaneous ulcers, and for the treatment of pyodermas in horses. Also useful as an aid in the prevention of wound infections following surgical procedures.

Directions For Use

Superficial infections: Apply to infected area as a spray or as wet dressing. Repeat as required to control infection. If desired, may be diluted with several parts of sterile water or saline.

Wounds and lesions: To avoid adherence by drying of exudates, impregnated gauze may be covered by waxed paper or petroleum gauze.

Pyodermas: Use only on abscesses and furuncles following incision or rupture.

Ulcers: Varicose and decubitus ulcers may be treated as are wounds and lesions. However, in chronic cases, it is advisable to protect the abnormally sensitive skin about the lesion with zinc oxide ointment or paste. Restricting application to five to seven days where feasible, minimizes irritation and sensitization. It is effective only when bacterial infection is responsible for lack of healing.

PRECAUTION: In case of deep or puncture wounds, consult a veterinarian. If redness, irritation or swelling persists or increases, discontinue use and consult a veterinarian.

STORAGE CONDITIONS: Store in a dark place, between 15 °C and 30 °C. Avoid freezing. Exposure to light may cause discoloration without loss of potency.
