Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction while taking benzoic acid / salicylic acid topical: hives; difficult breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Call your doctor at once if you have:
severe burning or skin irritation; or
burning sensation for longer than 10 days.
Common side effects may include:
warmth or a burning sensation (may last up to 5 minutes after applying).
