Important warnings This medicine can cause some serious health issues

Use this medication as directed on the label, or as your doctor has prescribed.

Do not use the medication in larger amounts or for longer than recommended.

If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, wait until then to use the medicine and skip the missed dose.

Do not use extra medicine to make up the missed dose.

Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.

Less serious side effects are more likely, and you may have none at all. You may feel a slight burning or stinging when you first apply amlexanox oral paste. Talk to your doctor about any unusual or bothersome side effects.

Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction while taking amlexanox topical (the active ingredient contained in OraDisc A) hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.

Local adverse events

Local side effects have included transient stinging, pain or burning at the site of application in 1% to 2% of patients.[Ref]

Gastrointestinal

Gastrointestinal side effects have included contact mucositis, nausea, and diarrhea in less than 1% of patients.[Ref]
