Serious side effects of Giapreza
Along with its needed effects, angiotensin II (the active ingredient contained in Giapreza) may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.
Check with your doctor or nurse immediately if any of the following side effects occur while taking angiotensin II:
More common
- Black, tarry stools
- bleeding gums
- blood in the urine or stools
- confusion as to time, place, or person
- drowsiness
- fast, pounding, or irregular heartbeat or pulse
- headache
- nausea
- pain in the arms, legs, or lower back, especially in the calves or heels upon exertion
- pain, redness, or swelling in the arm or leg
- pinpoint red spots on the skin
- seeing, hearing, or feeling things that are not there
- troubled breathing
- unusual bleeding or bruising
- unusual excitement, nervousness, or restlessness
- unusual tiredness or weakness
- vomiting
Less common
- Blurred vision
- dry mouth
- flushed, dry skin
- fruit-like breath odor
- increased hunger
- increased thirst
- increased urination
- itching of the skin
- numbness and tingling of the face, fingers, or toes
- pale, bluish-colored, or cold hands or feet
- stomach pain
- sweating
- unexplained weight loss
Other side effects of Giapreza
Some side effects of angiotensin II may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects.

Common (1% to 10%): Deep vein thrombosis, tachycardia, peripheral ischemia[Ref]

Metabolic
Common (1% to 10%): Acidosis, hyperglycemia[Ref]
Psychiatric
Common (1% to 10%): Delirium[Ref]
Other
Common (1% to 10%): Fungal infection[Ref]
