Serious side effects of florbetapir F 18
Along with its needed effects, florbetapir F 18 may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.
Check with your doctor or nurse immediately if any of the following side effects occur while taking florbetapir F 18:
Rare side effects
- blurred vision
- dizziness
- headache
- nervousness
- pounding in the ears
- slow or fast heartbeat
Other side effects of florbetapir F 18
Some side effects of florbetapir F 18 may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects.

The most commonly reported side effects were headache, musculoskeletal pain, increased blood pressure, fatigue, nausea, and injection site reaction.[Ref]

Musculoskeletal
- Uncommon (0.1% to 1%): Musculoskeletal pain, back pain, neck pain[Ref]
Nervous system
- Common (1% to 10%): Headache
- Uncommon (0.1% to 1%): Dizziness
- Frequency not reported: Dysgeusia[Ref]
Psychiatric
Local
- Uncommon (0.1% to 1%): Injection site hemorrhage, injection site irritation, and injection site pain
- Frequency not reported: Infusion site rash[Ref]
