Prevduo
Generic name: glycopyrrolate and neostigmine [ GLYE-koe-PIR-oh-late-and-NEE-oh-STIG-meen ]

What is Prevduo?
Prevduo is used in adults and children at least 2 years old to regain muscle function after surgery.
Prevduo may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.
Prevduo side effects
Get emergency medical help if you have signs of an allergic reaction: hives, difficult breathing, swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Prevduo may cause serious side effects. Call your doctor at once if you have:
-
severe constipation, severe stomach pain and bloating;
-
diarrhea (especially if you have a colostomy or ileostomy);
-
painful or difficult urination;
-
fast or pounding heartbeats, fluttering in your chest;
-
confusion, severe drowsiness;
-
fever, shallow breathing, weak pulse, hot and red skin; or
-
eye pain, seeing halos around lights.
Common side effects of Prevduo may include:
-
nausea, vomiting;
-
difficult urination or urination problems;
-
blurred vision, light sensitivity;
-
decreased sweating; or
-
slow or fast heartbeats, fluttering in your chest.

Warnings
Tell your doctor if you use other medicines or have other medical conditions or allergies.
Before taking this medicine
You should not use Prevduo if you are allergic to it, or if you have:
-
peritonitis (inflammation of the membrane lining the organs inside your abdomen);
-
a stomach or bowel obstruction (including paralytic ileus);
-
severe ulcerative colitis, toxic megacolon;
-
a bladder obstruction or other urination problems;
-
active bleeding with heart and blood circulation problems.
Tell your doctor if you have or have ever had:
-
heart problems or a heart rhythm disorder;
-
a thyroid disorder;
-
colostomy or ileostomy; or
-
liver or kidney disease.
Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
How is Prevduo given?
Follow all directions on your prescription label and read all medication guides or instruction sheets.
Prevduo is injected into a vein by a healthcare provider over a period of at least 1 minute.
What happens if I miss a dose?
Prevduo is used as a single dose and does not have a daily dosing schedule.
What happens if I overdose?
In a medical setting an overdose would be treated quickly.
What should I avoid while receiving Prevduo?
Avoid driving or hazardous activity until you know how Prevduo will affect you. Your reactions could be impaired.
Avoid becoming overheated or dehydrated during exercise and in hot weather. Prevduo can decrease sweating and you may be more prone to heat stroke.
What other drugs will affect Prevduo?
Sometimes it is not safe to use certain medicines at the same time. Some drugs can affect your blood levels of other drugs you use, which may increase side effects or make the medicines less effective.
Tell your doctor about all your other medicines, especially:
-
medicine to treat depression, anxiety, mood disorders, or mental illness;
-
bronchodilator asthma medication;
-
cold or allergy medicine (Benadryl and others);
-
medicine to treat overactive bladder;
-
medicine to treat Parkinson's disease; or
-
medicine to treat stomach problems, motion sickness, or irritable bowel syndrome.
