sodium bicarbonate amprenavir
Applies to: Alka-Seltzer Gold (citric acid / potassium bicarbonate / sodium bicarbonate), amprenavir
Using sodium bicarbonate together with amprenavir may decrease the effects of amprenavir. Amprenavir should be administered at least 1 hour before or after sodium bicarbonate. If your doctor does prescribe these medications together, you may need a dose adjustment or special test to safely use both medications. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.

Amprenavir can be taken with or without food. Avoid taking with a high-fat meal, which can make it harder for your body to absorb amprenavir. Take amprenavir with a full glass (8 ounces) of water. Do not switch from amprenavir capsules to oral liquid without your doctor's advice. Make sure you receive the right form of this medication each time you get your prescription filled.
