Cholestyramine may interfere with the absorption of megestrol when these medications are taken at the same time. This may reduce the blood levels and effects of megestrol. To prevent or minimize the interaction, megestrol should be taken at least 1 hour before or 4 to 6 hours after the cholestyramine dose.
