Moderate Drug Interaction
Using sevelamer together with multivitamin with minerals may decrease the effects of multivitamin with minerals. Multivitamin with minerals should be administered at least 4 hours before sevelamer. If your doctor does prescribe these medications together, you may need a dose adjustment or special test to safely use both medications. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
Moderate Food Interaction
Sevelamer may interact with other medications if taken directly with them. As a precaution, other medications that can be affected by changes in blood levels should be administered 1 hour before or 3 hours after sevelamer. This will make it easier for your body to absorb the medication.
