Usual Adult Dose for Fungal Infection Prophylaxis
Apply directly to cleaned area/wound with a cotton-tipped applicator once or twice daily.
Usual Adult Dose for Oral Thrush
Apply directly to cleaned area/wound with a cotton-tipped applicator once or twice daily.
Renal Dose Adjustments
There are no data concerning the dosing of gentian violet topical in patients with renal dysfunction.
Liver Dose Adjustments
There are no data concerning the dosing of gentian violet topical in patients with liver dysfunction.
Precautions
For external use only. Medication will stain skin and clothing. Not for application to ulcerative lesions as this could result in permanent staining of the skin. Do not use in the eyes. In cases of deep or puncture wounds or serious burns, consult a physician. If redness, irritation, swelling or pain persists or increases, or if infection occurs, discontinue use and consult a physician.
