Moderate Potential Hazard, Moderate plausibility. Applicable conditions: Allergies

Serious hypersensitivity reactions, including anaphylaxis- type reactions, some of which have been life-threatening have been reported in patients using some injection iron products. Patients may present with shock, clinically significant hypotension, loss of consciousness, and/or collapse. These products should be administered cautiously, especially in patients with a history of significant allergies. Patients should be monitored during and at least 30 minutes after the administration. Epinephrine should be immediately available in the event of acute hypersensitivity reactions.

Moderate Potential Hazard, Moderate plausibility.

Clinically significant hypotension has been reported in clinical trials and postmarketing after the administration of ferumoxytol injection. Patients should be monitored for signs and symptoms of hypotension after administration.
