"I am halfway through this treatment of IV infusion of Ferrlecit. Each time after the infusion, both arms break out in a terrible rash and swell a lot. The IV arm is much worse than the opposite arm. I also have chest pain and general malaise. I am taking histamine blockers at the time of the infusion to help, but it doesn't help much."

"I was given my first IV of Ferrlecit, which caused me to have my hands swell to the point that I could not bend my fingers. My skin turned gray, and I started having extreme dizziness. Thank goodness my husband saw my skin color changing and called the nurses over. I was completely gray in color and could not feel my fingers and had lumbar pain at that point. They gave me medication to help counteract the situation, as well as started a phlebotomy to get blood that was in me out to help ease the reaction. I was then taken by ambulance to the hospital. I will never take this again."
