For Anxiety "I just felt the need to share my experience as a lot of people will be in my position. I'm a normally very confident lad, I work in a restaurant, so I regularly communicate with people I don't know without issues. I do, however, fall to pieces when in a presentation situation, exam, or interview where anxiety seems to set in. I get shaky, and my mind can go completely blank. I looked online for a possible cure for this when I came across propranolol. I ordered some online via an online UK med store and tested them out today before my apprenticeship test. I honestly can't believe how well they worked. I was talkative and could think throughout the test, an absolute great and staple for hard situations from now on!"

For Anxiety "I've had the odd anxiety attack over the past 3 years. They came from nowhere. Probably caused by marriage breakdown and my son being diagnosed as epileptic. The final straw was 2 months ago when I had an attack, and I thought I was going to die! Extreme dizziness, feeling sick, rapid heartbeat, feeling very hot, and shaky, then fainted. Tests showed everything normal apart from high blood pressure. Have been given 40 mg once a day to see if this helps. Reading reviews, I'm hoping they do."

For Anxiety "2 years ago, I started to experience internal tremors. With that came the feeling I couldn't inhale enough air into my body to breathe. My leg muscles would twitch, and achy arm and leg muscles. Bedtimes were horrendous, I could feel my pulse/heartbeat in every inch of my body. As I fell asleep (when I did), my body would jerk me awake again. I became easily startled even with familiar noises, so I went to the doctor, who said I was suffering from anxiety. Citalopram was prescribed, and after 6 weeks, I felt better. I took it for 5 months and then was weaned off. 3 days ago, after 4 months with no symptoms, all the feelings are back. Prescribed propranolol 10 mg 3 x daily, quick acting, it's early days, but fingers crossed."

For Anxiety "I experienced a really bad panic attack, which I believed I was dying, and after this, I kept experiencing the same sort of panic attacks. My doctor prescribed me 40 mg of propranolol to help deal with the awful side effects that came from this: shaking, high heart rate, and sweating. At first, it helped greatly with reducing my heart rate, and I was so thankful. About two weeks later, I was the worst I had ever been. This medication will lower your blood pressure, this I was never told. I have had a “normal” low blood pressure my entire life. I started experiencing an abnormal heart rate, which made my anxiety worse. My breathing felt altered, and I found it so hard to sleep. I also have the worst diarrhea ever. I am afraid of this tablet, I have to now get weaned off it because they started me at 40 mg, and if I stop suddenly, it might mess my heart up even more. I dread bedtime now and the side effect of these tablets, it had made me more anxious than ever."

For Performance Anxiety "I have always had the fear of speeches. Every day I would play a scene in my head whereby I'm asked to present in front of the team, and this was my worst nightmare. It influenced many choices I have made (what courses to take, whether to apply for jobs with presentations, etc.). I had tried meditation, been on public speaking courses, I even used alcohol to get through some. Eventually, I went to the doctors and prescribed propranolol, I took 10 mg 2 hours and then 10 mg 30 mins before a presentation. Today I managed to present in front of 50 people for the first time. I was hesitant just before... but once up there, I was cool and calm. It was AMAZING. No shaky voice or hands, I just did it. One of the most significant days of my life."

For Arrhythmia "I started taking this several months ago, and aside from the partial loss in some sexual stimulation, some itchiness/shaky/light-headedness - this has restored my life. I was a bundle of problems before, with a very erratic heartbeat, stress off the charts, and other depressive symptoms. A BIG thank you to my doctor and anyone that put up with me before propranolol. HIGHLY recommend it."

For Performance Anxiety "This drug is amazing. I have always suffered from an elevated heart rate and shaky voice when public speaking. Well, I just took a 40 mg dose of propranolol before a best man speech and absolutely crushed it. I practiced my speech a lot and knew my material, but my body didn’t let me down. It was my best public speaking experience in my life by far, and propranolol is a major reason. You still need to practice and know your material, but your body won’t fail you."

For Performance Anxiety "When I tried this drug for the first time, I got so emotional that it brought tears to my eyes. I couldn't believe that anything or any drug could make this severe anxiety that I have simply disappear. I am normally a confident person in mind, but no matter how I tried, my body doesn't respond whenever I am speaking in front of people or meeting a new person. My hands start shaking dramatically, and I feel out of control, my heart starts pumping like crazy. This drug lately saved my career. It is like magic. I took 40 mg every day in the morning, and I am now more confident than ever. Give it a try, it will save you like it saved me. Of course, tell your doctor first."

For Panic Disorder "I was prescribed propranolol 4 years ago and was on 160 mg daily for around a year, and it worked straight away. Took away the racing heart and trembling hands and made me feel normal. After around 6 months, I started to feel lightheaded and dizzy and was moved down to 80 mg daily, which I was on for around 2 years. When I felt I was on better control of my panic attacks, I started to titrate down the propranolol, as you are not allowed to just stop taking it, and this is the downside, as when my panic attacks were under control, I was starting to get a racing heart and trembling again as the doctors were trying to get my titration rate sorted out, and I was moved down too quickly. It took 18 months to do this, which was the downside."

For Performance Anxiety "Well, what can I say? It’s all true. I’ve read all the posts, and I must say that I agree with those who find propranolol effective. It just works! I mean, I’m so shocked how all my symptoms disappeared. No shaky hands, no rapid heartbeat, no sweating, no anxiety other than the anxiety from not knowing whether it would work. I literally walked to the mic in front of hundreds of people, said my speech, which I prepared diligently, realized I had no symptoms (noted above), smiled, and delivered it flawlessly. I’m so happy. This is a life changer. The sky is the limit now. Thanks, propranolol.....you’re the best."

For Performance Anxiety "I have been in IT for forty years. As I reached my late 50s, my self-confidence began to decline. My job requires me to do presentations regularly. I started having serious anxiety and trouble getting through presentations. My heart would pound. My throat would tighten up significantly, and my voice was weak and shaky. My doctor prescribed Propranolol 20 mg. If I take it an hour or so before a presentation, I'm fine. None of the symptoms I mentioned above. Most workdays I take it when I get up in the morning, and I'm great all day-no matter what stressful situation comes up. I was skeptical that anything could do what Propranolol has done. It saved my career-and makes personal situations easier as well."

For Performance Anxiety "Was dreading my maid of honor speech and took 3 10 mg one hour before the speech and it saved me! I am no different from everyone else on here in that I am extremely affected by having all eyes on me and I get the shakes and pounding heart. I got up there, sailed through, with no physical symptoms. It's literally too good to be true. I can't wait to try it for work and grad school presentations. My savior."

For Anxiety "I ended up having frequent urination, muscle pain, twitching, and major fatigue. Pressure headaches and pain in my left leg and stomach cramps. I stopped 3 days ago and am already feeling better, this has been the worst thing I have ever taken."

For Performance Anxiety "I never leave reviews, but this honestly deserves it. I am a young professional, and throughout my life, I have been confident at giving speeches. I had a bad experience where I was not prepared, and it mentally scarred me. I would then go on to have tremors, shaking, dry throat, and quivering voice. My career was being hindered, so I began seeing a hypnotherapist, to no avail. I then came across propranolol, and I feel like my old self. It’s actually incredible. Take 2x 40 mg tablets 1 hour before the event, and all symptoms were gone, allowing me to focus and be my old self. Miracle drug."

For Performance Anxiety "I sometimes get picked to read Bible lessons in the church on Sundays, and I would go forward and mess up terribly - shaking, voice breaking, hands sweating, etc. This got real bad that I had to discuss it with my doctor. I actually asked him for Xanax, but instead, he prescribed propranolol. This medicine worked miracles. I even started to think I did not need it anymore until one day I didn't take it and I was called to read the Bible lesson. I had the worst experience of my life that day and promised myself I would never go to church anymore without taking propranolol. Since after that day, everything has been okay - of course, with propranolol. I did not know any medicine could be that effective! I take 10-15 mg as needed 1-2 hours before church."

For Performance Anxiety "I have 2 phobias in my life. The first one being spiders, the other one is public speaking. I think we all get the same symptoms from performance anxiety/public speaking. i.e., trembling hands, weak voice, heart rushing, and face blushing, and we all know how embarrassing it is. Now the thing with propranolol is that you will feel as anxious and afraid as always the moments before your presentation, but as soon as you start talking and notice that no physical symptoms appear, the anxiety goes away. Like, in less than a minute. This drug has saved my life and my career, and I'm so thankful. Had a presentation today for 35 people, first time in 3 years. And propranolol made me nail the presentation without ANY physical symptoms. I took 60 mg."

For Performance Anxiety "Same as most comments, crippling public speaking anxiety to the point that introducing myself for 10 seconds to a few strangers in a room would induce utter fear. Hands shaking uncontrollably, mouth so dry, tunnel vision, racing heart, nausea. Upon recently taking a job in HR, I have been getting more involved in presentations and group training sessions... the thought filled me with dread. I’ve made a fool out of myself before, so I thought, oh no, it’s going to happen again! I researched anything that might help and found this page. Got prescribed propranolol 10 mg tabs to take 3 times during a day I may suffer public speaking anxiety. Done my first presentation yesterday, it was like 5 mins then answering questions, but after taking propranolol, I noticed a big difference. No dry mouth or shaky hands, still nervous inside but felt calm speaking, like I was in control somewhat. Think next time I’ll up the dose to 20 mg 2 hrs before and 20 mg 45 mins before instead of 30 mg. Wish I knew about it sooner."

For Performance Anxiety "A year ago, I started to feel anxiety in certain social situations. In recent months, the anxiety began to provoke panic attacks. I have researched a lot and tried a lot of drugs (Diazepam, Alprazolam, Clonazepam, valerian, etizolam, etc.), but they did not help me. Since studying chemistry, I had difficulty working in the lab. I decided to get propranolol to try a different approach to anxiety/panic attacks. Now I have my life back. There is no shaking, twitches, or cracking voice. I do not concern myself with what might happen because I know that propranolol blocks any fear (not mentally, but physically). I recommend it to all those who suffer from social anxiety accompanied by physical symptoms."

For Anxiety "Life changing for me discovering this at the age of 32, after years of suffering from panic attacks in social situations and public speaking mainly. Now one 10 mg tablet 30 mins before, and I have absolutely no physical symptoms... no shaking, racing heart, etc. I wish I knew about this years ago. I would have never, ever thought I would be able to stand in front of a room of people and be able to present."

For Benign Essential Tremor "I started off on 10 mg twice daily, almost 2 years ago, went to neuro for dizziness and migraines and tremors worse. I slowly upped the dosage to 80 mg, and the tremors were even worse. Dropped back down to old dosage, tremors still bad. Dizziness and migraines still bad, tried 4 different meds for migraines, allergic to all 4. Now, along with all that, I have started stumbling, toe will catch on floor. I always try to walk near something to catch myself or hold onto so I don't fall. I am only 43 but feel 80."

For Performance Anxiety "I've always suffered from severe anxiety and a triggered 'fight or flight' response during most stressful situations for the vast majority of my life. Needless to say, oftentimes it has made life an overbearing and unmanageable life for me. Stressful situations generally bring about severe shaking, very rapid heartbeat, flushed red face, shaky voice, 'cottonmouth,' and feeling like I'm going to jump out of my skin. Propranolol completely, unequivocally, and 100% prevents that for me!!!! It totally shuts down my response to stress stimuli. I take it anywhere from 30 to 45 minutes before nerve-wracking situations, and it feels like I'm made of steel! All of the above symptoms are completely eliminated. It allows me to get through otherwise unbearably high-pressure and even confrontational situations for me. All physical symptoms of anxiety are simply not there when I take it. If I could rate it higher than a 10, I would!"

For Performance Anxiety "To keep it short, this drug saved my life and academic career! After recovering from an addiction problem I had, I developed intense anxiety and eventually performance and social anxiety. I couldn't give presentations anymore in my graduate school classes, I wasn't able to conduct interviews for internships, and I stopped attending most social events. Although this drug only focuses on the physical symptoms and not the psychological ones, it's enough to get you back on your feet, knowing that you will not experience the rapid heart rate increases, shaky voice, and sweating will by itself make you more confident and literally decrease the psychological symptoms!"
