"A great preventative drug for Calcium Oxalate kidney stone formers. Also, somehow helped with pain post-surgery. I had a cystoscopic laser lithotripsy to remove a 9mm kidney stone stuck in my kidney and my doctor prescribed me this post-surgery (in addition to all the other meds you get post-surgery). It helped with the constant burning feeling during recovery. It is also great for prevention of future kidney stones. Accidentally indulge in a meal containing high oxalates? No worries, drink a bunch of water and take one of these. Obviously, don't do that all the time but it's a great medication for those meals you just can't say no to. I think taking this medication 3x a day is excessive and found myself taking it once a day instead."
