Fondaparinux "Better than Lovenox, only once a day, and it doesn't sting as much. Additionally, I have less nausea and tiredness on it than I did with either Lovenox or Coumadin. However, the nausea is still not great. I am looking forward to switching to Pradaxa and eliminating the need for shots, and hopefully, the nausea."

"I have had 3 DVTs, and finally, fondaparinux sodium has proven to be very effective and easy to use. I mention the generic name because the drugstore could not always get Arixtra, but Sandoz fondaparinux sodium is the same. Easy to use and no problems with the syringe. My hematologist will not switch to another medicine because he claims he could stop internal bleeding while on this but cannot do so with some oral meds available now."

Fondaparinux "Arixtra 7.5 mg injectable has been a godsend for me. I have been on it for 7 years and have not experienced any blood clots during that time. The needles that are used are as small as the ones used for diabetic medication. They do not hurt at all. It comes in prefilled syringes with the needles already on them, so they're very convenient. They also retract back into the syringe, so you do not need a sharps container. All in all, it is the best medication I have been on to prevent blood clots."
