Fondaparinux for Deep Vein Thrombosis, Prophylaxis "Arixtra 7.5 mg injectable has been a godsend for me. I have been on it for 7 years and have not experienced any blood clots during that time. The needles that are used are as small as the ones used for diabetic medication. They do not hurt at all. It comes in prefilled syringes with the needles already on them, so they're very convenient. They also retract back into the syringe, so you do not need a sharps container. All in all, it is the best medication I have been on to prevent blood clots."

Fondaparinux for Deep Vein Thrombosis "I have been on Arixtra for 4 years now and am in law school. I had tried all the other medications for DVTs and pulmonary embolism, which I have had both, and this is the only one that allows me to have a normal life."

Fondaparinux for Deep Vein Thrombosis, Prophylaxis "Better than Lovenox, only once a day, and it doesn't sting as much. Additionally, I have less nausea and tiredness on it than I did with either Lovenox or Coumadin. However, the nausea is still not great. I am looking forward to switching to Pradaxa and eliminating the need for shots, and hopefully, the nausea."

Fondaparinux for Deep Vein Thrombosis "I was on Arixtra for 2 years after failing Lovenox and Eloquis. When I paid for my own insurance ($1,600 a month), my insurance covered it. But now that I am disabled and on Medicare, my copay is $630 a month. They put me on warfarin and they can’t stabilize. Makes me feel sick. Tightening to get back on Arixtra, it worked great for me."

Fondaparinux for Deep Vein Thrombosis "Using this drug for over 2 years after bilateral DVT and PE with HITT. No need to worry about foods I eat and worries about clotting times. Wish it was a pill versus an injection. Happy it has kept me stable."

For Deep Vein Thrombosis, Prophylaxis "I have had 3 DVTs, and finally, fondaparinux sodium has proven to be very effective and easy to use. I mention the generic name because the drugstore could not always get Arixtra, but Sandoz fondaparinux sodium is the same. Easy to use and no problems with the syringe. My hematologist will not switch to another medicine because he claims he could stop internal bleeding while on this but cannot do so with some oral meds available now."

Fondaparinux for Pulmonary Embolism "Using this med as a last resort. With all the other blood thinners, I had the reaction of extreme muscle and joint pain. The med doesn't do that, but it does make me quite fatigued. I am now using Mondafinil to relieve the fatigue, and it works fairly well. Overall, my life is fairly balanced, but wish there wasn't quite so much fatigue."
