For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "After a month taking dutasteride/tamsulosin, I developed such excruciating pain in my left buttock/hip joint that I could not put any weight on my left leg. Walking became difficult and painful. After discontinuing, symptoms are beginning to subside."

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "I want people to know that this medication is very dangerous. Please do not take this medication if you want to continue to walk. This medication caused my dads death. Please do not take it! This medicine caused my dad to become weak and eventually he couldn't walk less in than 4 months. He started falling a lot and I saw his skin color changing and I took him off. This medication eventually shuts your body down. Please do not take it."

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "Starting taking for BPH and helped with urine flow, I am a doctor and this is a true review. The medication makes me weak and tired along with insomnia. Medication causes orthostatic hypotension when standing from a seated position. The worst side effects include forgetfulness, tooth pain, low back pain, hip pain, knee pain all of the above severe in nature. The medications side effects out weigh its benefits. Do yourself a favor and don’t take this stuff"

Jalyn (dutasteride / tamsulosin) for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "Have been taking Jalyn for 3 months. Did experience better urine flow and less trips to the bathroom at night. Side affects are: constipation, dry ejaculation (no semen), decreased libido, dizziness and hip pain. Might consider switching medication depending if side effects worsen."

Jalyn (dutasteride / tamsulosin) for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "After a week of using Jalyn, among other less severe side effects, I developed a severe hip joint area inflammation that got so bad that I could hardly walk. Had XRAY and MRI done and no issues with the hip joint. I quit taking and switched to AVODART and have had no side effects and has helped without any noticeable side effects. Took 5 weeks for hip area to go back to normal. "

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "Switched from finesteride to duesteride. Huge mistake. Within 10 days developed horrific right hip pain. A 14 on the scale of 1-10. Couldn’t walk till 10am. Tears of pain were my norm. Stopped taking it 5 days ago. No change maybe worse. Turn back!!!!"

Jalyn (dutasteride / tamsulosin) for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "I was prescribed Jalyn for 8 months and my Doctor terminated its use at the start of the new year. I noticed very little improvement in the need to urinate approximately every two hours at night. I experienced feelings of weakness, leg cramps, and breast pain/enlargement. I also have noticed some pain in hips and joints that may or may not be related to the medication. I feel positive about the decision to discontinue its use."

Jalyn (dutasteride / tamsulosin) for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "Helped a lot. Made it a lot easier to urinate but still not a strong stream and I still have trouble fully emptying my bladder at night. Caused a lot of hair loss on my body and I no longer ejaculate anything. Sex drive is also down. I still get up 8 times at night to urinate. Doctor has not been able to help with that."

Jalyn (dutasteride / tamsulosin) for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "Taking for about 2 weeks - noticeable improvement - was getting up 2-3 times a night, now none, stronger stream, no side effects yet. But, @ $3.00/pill and not covered by insurance, it is quite expensive."

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "Was on this medication dutasteride/tamsulosin for 12 days and started experiencing right SI joint pain. Attempted massage and Chiropractic care to no avail. Pain is unbearable at night and sleep is impossible. Walking has become painful as well. Stopped taking it 48 hours ago but still in excruciating pain. Stretching has given only temporary relief. Upon investigation the half life is 4-6 weeks with serum levels still present at 6 months. Others who have reported this issues resolved after 3-6 weeks. There is 0.000% chance this side effect can be tolerated. I stopped and will not ever take again."

Jalyn (dutasteride / tamsulosin) for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "I took Jalyn for ten months; it worked well the first six months, then I increased trips to bathroom at night during the last four months. I had to quit because of increased risk of cancer; that is, my PSA increased passed 4.00."

Jalyn (dutasteride / tamsulosin) for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "Have taken drug for about ten years now. PSA is constant around 2.3, familiar symptoms including dry ejaculation, breast enlargement, reduced libido, nightly trips to the bathroom down to 1 (normal) or 2 a night. Size of prostate is/has been about 1/2 size originally measured in this time period. Small cancer sample with no change over this time period. Cannot attribute any other weaknesses or pains to the use of the drug. Doctor tells me over and over again it's a lifetime drug which I am not fond of hearing. May consider surgery to remove prostate."

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "Been taking for about 6 months. My stream has improved to that of a 30 year old. Went from getting up at night from 3 to 4 times to 1 and sometimes none. My PSA dropped from 15.3 to 6.1. These drugs have worked SUPER for me. ( 79 year old male )"

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "I took it for about 4 months, It did work for urine flow. However, I developed knee pain without any injury and my "bad" knee flared up after 18 months of no issues. Hard to walk with both knees hurting. My doctor said knee pain was not a side effect, but I stopped taking it anyway. It's been 4 weeks and my knees are better."

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "Have taken this medication for 4 years and it has worked well to enable urination without discomfort but still relatively slowly. A missed couple of doses brings back the symptoms of slow starting and very slow urination. A temporary change to dutasteride alone, on holiday, was not satisfactory or effective. I am now experiencing slight discomfort in the testicles which may be a side effect or unwanted consequence of the medication. It might be psychosomatic. If it gets worse I will take medical advice."

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "Do not take this drug! I have been on Flomax since 2016, I stopped yesterday after finding out online, what I have been experiencing: severe back pain (so much so I have had nerve ablations, nerve blocks in my hip and back-- all in one year with unexplained back pain, seeing a doctor every month! But I feel so much better in just one day! And-- my vision declined in just two years, not to mention extreme sensitivity to the sun, even interior lights. This medicine is awful, only made me so dizzy I passed out a few times."

"DO NOT TAKE this medicine. Took it for a month before I started experiencing extreme pain in my left hip and leg. I could not put any pressure on my left leg. I missed 2 weeks of work before I realized it was the tamsulosin. Stopped taking it and the symptoms are slowly going away."

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "Took medication for two years, did not experience significant increase in urine flow. Had complete rotator cuff tears in both shoulders playing a sport I had played my whole life. May or may not be related but I am extremely suspect that it weakens tendons."

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "This drug has helped me have an easier time passing urine. I notice if I miss a day, it goes back to spurts and dribbling instead of an easy flow. Erectile issues for sure, and I also believe unexplained weight gain. I might try a break from it to see how I go."

Jalyn (dutasteride / tamsulosin) "The only thing is about 10 to 20 minutes after swallowing the capsule it seems my stomach is burning! This only lasts a couple minutes, but I really wish it wouldn't happen. Other than that one thing I'm feeling OK now at almost 89."

"Avoid this drug, I switched from finasteride to Dutasteride to combat hair loss as I was told it is more effective. After 6 months of taking dutasteride I could barely walk, both of my knees were very painful and one completely swelled up, what followed next was severe feet problems, I have stopped taking Dutasteride now but the damage has already been done and I am going to require knee surgery down the line. I am only 32 and will now have knee and feet issues for life due to this drug."

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "Have been taking this med for a week and now have fantastic urine flow. Gone from painful urgent need to go and slow dribbling that took 2-3 minutes to pee to now taking 20 seconds, full flow and no pain. Some lower back niggles but hey - that’s why we have ibuprofen. Other problems may arise and it’s a bit early to say they won’t, but right now I'd say they're a great thing."
