"After having prostate cancer and radiation treatments, it affected my bladder. I was peeing 3 to 4 times a night, like a newborn, so I went to my doctor, who prescribed the nasal spray desmopressin. Close to bedtime, I cut back on water, I use one spray, and about 15 min later, I get sleepy and only wake up one time a night. Yes. But I don't know why I wake up with a headache. Although I still use desmopressin."

"I use desmopressin at night. It does cut back on going to the restroom. I sleep more, but when I wake up, I have a headache, like I feel like I have a hangover. So it looks like I'm going to stop taking desmopressin and slow down drinking water early."

"Nasal sprays all have greater exposure to the brain and may be the cause of the headache/hangover. A generic oral version of desmopressin is available and may reduce chances of headache/hangover. I take it every night and sleep through the night with the only side effect being greater sweating during exertion. Otherwise, after 5 years of use, have not had any other side effects."
