"I had cisplatin more than 40 years ago when I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer 1C and given five courses of chemotherapy (I was originally scheduled for six). Here I am, age 84, grateful to be alive, but still plagued with the very troublesome tinnitus and peripheral neuropathy I developed then. Plus I've more recently added tremors, neurogenic bladder, and very poor temperature regulation. I don't know for sure if the more recent problems stem from the chemo, but no one else in my family had neurological issues as they aged. I have no idea if it kept me alive, but I won't second-guess my wonderful doctor."
