"I have chronic OSA/hypopnea with daytime drowsiness. I'm on CPAP therapy and 150 mg of Nuvigil once per day. I've always had difficulty staying awake during the day; even when I was an adolescent in grade school and later in high school. I was finally diagnosed when I was 40 years old, after falling asleep while driving to work. I was also having chest pain and horrible headaches when I woke up in the morning prior to starting therapy. After starting on Nuvigil, it was like a day and night difference. I was wide awake, full of energy, and no jittery side effects. This was great for about the first year. I've now been on Nuvigil for 7 years, and while it does still help me stay awake and focused during the day, the effects are greatly minimized. I no longer have that surge of positive energy and super sharp focus. And I mostly feel in a fog most of the day. I've tried increasing my dose per my doctor, and that did nothing but give me a horrible headache. But it's been a lifesaver."

"I developed OSA-suspiciously soon after my dog, suffering from months of illness-when I had to put her to sleep. There were other issues, too, and I feel the OSA is linked with depression. Regardless, disrupted sleep and developing insomnia made me seek out stimulants through my doctor. I started with Armodafinil 150 mg, and after a few days, I felt this was the answer to my chronic fatigue. Side effects were mild and occurred as the effectiveness wore off. I was disappointed that within a couple of weeks, only the unpleasant side effects were evident, without the energy. Sunosi and another prescription to enhance energy followed without success. Finally, Adderall arrived. Two hours of energy, then mild nausea and a short temper replaced it. After 2 months on Adderall, I tried the Armodafinil again. Only on Day 2, but it’s working for now. I question if part of the fatigue could be depression requiring additional medication."

"I was originally prescribed for sleep disorders, but I also have adult ADHD, depression, and anxiety, and it helps all these problems. This medication is a real game changer for me."

"As a 58-year-old male who is still very physically active, it's depressing to be so sleepy in the daytime that I don't have the impulse to be active. I was disappointed by how little benefit I received from my CPAP. That led to being prescribed armodafinil. This is where I, my PCP, and sleep specialists will dispute the claim of 150 mg being the same as 250 mg. Negative, 250 mg made a big difference, no questions. The doctor's attitude was almost to the point that 150 mg is useless, and their eagerness to just get 250 mg prescribed was obvious. Nothing wrong with starting a prescription with 150 mg, but I bet that most people are using 250. For some reason, I have a higher tolerance to medication. More or less like my immune system. COVID had very little effect on me, even colds and flu have very little impact. I don't know why. Probably because of growing up with little medical intervention and drinking water from a cistern as a kid. I think you can be raised 'tougher.' Anyway..."
